Fland and Quaintance in McD's A-A game

Somto Cyril, not eligible, may be the best of Kentucky's freshmen players. He's certainly McD AA quality.
I havn't watched any film on him, just read a player review by somebody. It said he was a physical beast that tried to dunk everything of offense and block everyting on defense. So my takeaway was that he was maybe raw as far as offensive skills and fouling could be a problem on defense. But it sounds like you have seen him and I'd love to hear your take on his game.

Hey, they finally put guys who are committed to the same schools on the same teams together.

Looks like Trent Perry from USC was the biggest reach, ranked in the 50's.

I think we only trail Duke now in terms of all-time Mickey Ds.

I believe Duke has 92 all-time. Kentucky will have 81 all-time after Knox commits to Kentucky.

He looks like a 6'10" body builder. He runs well and can dribble the ball ok. It's hard to guess what kind of shot he has since his highlight films dwell on him dunking everything. His biggest skill is his leaping. One of the highlight reels is of people trying to measure his max. They extend the little measurement gizmo on a pole and he keeps swatting the top one. Some kid runs around screaming about it but -- Hell's Bells -- that kid would test Job.

That combination of height, muscle, and hops is pretty rare Dwight Howard stuff.

My expectations for Somto amount to a player off the bench who can come in occasionally to dunk and grab some boards, probably foul trouble as he adjusts. If he exceeds that, I'm happy.

That's what I expect. His playing type isn't really in demand in the NBA right now so I'd expect him to be at UK multiple years. I know that's not the normal expectation but it's how I see this one going.
