First Caller on KSR Post Game

Says he was told to sit down tonight twice at Rupp.

Ridiculous. Some of those people at Rupp need to get over themselves.
Those people won’t be there for UL. They will give their tickets there seems to be some people with trepidation about a new team. The crowd will show up for big games

We were about to walk out tonight and decided to stay for the postgame made one step outside the glass door not even outside the building just where the floor changes color. The lady said we were out and couldn’t come back in. I said really. You have got to be kidding me. So I said ok whatever. So we down past the old Rupp arena floor they have hanging up and walked in on that end and went to the postgame show. I just think sometimes people take their job a little too seriously. I mean come on people. I literally took one step past the lady and she said nope you’re in the outside.

There I feel better I got that off my chest and I am sorry I committed to have committed such a horrible act but in a moment of anger I lost control.

It's unfortunately the way some are, and she's probably just still angry about the election.

I dont agree with standing the whole time or close to it. Stand for big plays and such.

I'm 37 so not some blue hair. Not saying the caller was one of those people that stand the whole game but just saying.
I’m mid 40s. If I wanted to sit the whole time, I’d stay home and watch from the couch on TV. Just my 2 cents but:

Start of the game - Stand up
Close game - Stand up
Timeouts - Sit down
Getting beat down - Sit down
Good lead - Sit down unless something deserves a standing cheer. (Great defensive possession, big play, and so on).

All fair and appropriate times to stand and sit. Think we are n agreement.

Silly take. Almost certainly will be there for the loserville game.

I stand some in games, on exciting plays, after a player who has played well leaves game, when the crowd, during a intense moment on occasion. I agree with fellow who says standing is easier for me for the same reasons. I don't however out of politeness. That said I came to the game to see it and if people in front of me stand up I am too. To those behind me, they have 2 choices sit and bitch about missing game action, or get up.

Went to the UK football game at Texas this year. Almost the entire stadium stood the entire game. No excuse for basketball. And if you don’t stand, fine. Don’t stand but don’t expect others to sit.

I’ve lost count how many times this ridiculously stupid topic gets beaten to death on this forum.

Good grief people. It’s common courtesy to be mindful of people around you and not willfully block the view of others. If the intended expectation were for everyone to stand the whole game, THERE WOULDN’T BE ANY SEATS in the arena. This is not a difficult concept.

Who said they were standing the whole time? Didht read that anywhere, you find it?. Why i wish there were suites or boxes at rupp. The ppl that think it's a status event or ppl that need hospice care could be stowed away.

Had 4 people in front of me at Kroger Field that stood the entire game, every game, for a full season. Did it as a badge of honor. Great fans. Awful. Stupid. No need. We ended up watching the games on the scoreboard.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. If dude was just standing up the whole time, he's going to get told to sit down. Nobody wants to stand the whole game, because you want to stand. That's rude.
It's not like the team was on fire the whole game, there were only few minutes where standing would have been a thing.

I would find 6 people that were 7' tall, buy the seats in front of those people and pay the 7 footers to stand the entire time, then watch the game from home.

If you were supposed to stand they wouldn’t have installed seats. If fact, they need an entire section that’s standing room only for those types. What bugs me is the standers seem to have no regard for the people who’s view they block. Particularly egregious when kids can’t watch for the forest of people standing.

One could argue that fans could clap and cheer just as vigorously while seated, and everyone could see the action.
That's right I said it.
But they don't cheer at all I think is the actual point. (Many of them.)

To all, could we agree that the act of sitting or standing isn't the real issue? It's the act of being disengaged from the game and not cheering at all. The people that stand are in the oppsite end of that spectrum.

The middle is where we need to be.

I think it’s kind of silly to think standing up makes you a better fan or that the team will shoot better. Its never going to look like Cameron in there nor should it.We do our thing duke can do there’s.Everyone in this state is a big UK fan except the weirdos that hate there fathers. If there’s a little kid or a old person behind you be courteous and sit down (this is called being polite). If your around college kids crowd surf and do bong hits.I think in this day and age worrying about yourself and being polite to all around you is the muddiest of waters for people with a flickering light bulb.
