Page 3 (last listing). Fayette County schools superintendent and two others took a $24,000 trip to Australia “to invest best practices in social and emotional learning and equitable systems “. Our superintendent/school board sure knows how to spend some $$ (your tax money). I’m guessing not long before they say they need more tax money if we want better student results.

This is ridiculous.

Just like Berea where the super took $40k in trips while the district has more than a $1 million deficit and is cutting tons of jobs and activities.

And yet the technology department is several techs short and under a hiring freeze.

That tech department is damn near the hero of the entire school district. In spite of the fact that they have to labor under inept management (looking at YOU Dave C.) (FCPS essentially ran off one of the best admins in the district (BM) because he just couldn't stomach the malfeasance anymore)

(these are my opinions and observations of having worked there for over 27 years)

By the way. They restructured. AGAIN.

Social emotional learning and equitable systems… WTF is that?

And how do such nonsense expenditures get approved?
It is an alternative way to title the WOKE agenda.

Similar to when institutions are instructed to halt DEI initiatives, they rename the office of DEI to something less transparent and attempt to continue with the DEI agenda.

They sure did. And it's AWFUL.
Heard a rumor that all of the techs will now be required to report to Park Place in the morning, to get their daily work order assignments.

Up until about 2015/16, all of the techs were assigned a list of schools. Generally 1 tech per HS, 1 tech for 2 middle schools, and 1 tech for several elementary schools, which seemed to work pretty well, with the lone exception being that the elementary school techs were paid at a lower wage scale, which was ridiculous IMO, considering some of them had 6 or 7 campuses to support.

I'm going to email you. The techs don't have to report to Park Place (yet) but I'm positive that's something they want at some point. But we used to have assigned schools that we covered. They have taken all of that away and now we literally only have 5 techs now(one is a team lead) that have to cover all PC's and their peripherals, IFP's (big tv's with computers attached that replaced projectors) and printers.......for the ENTIRE district. They will also be tasked with upgrading all windows 10 devices to windows 11. It's bonkers.
