Since you like Zeppelin and might go to shows, if not familiar with them, you might be on the look-out for the ZoSo tribute band. They have been together for around twenty-five (25) years and are considered to be one of (if not THE) BEST Zeppelin shows out there. I've seen them around ten (10) times in Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Covington and Lexington and have never been disappointed. Very authentic and professional two-hour show. Check out some videos and see what you think. They are touring now.Can only get down to top 5. Depends on my mood:
Kashmir - Led Zeppelin
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Telegraph Road - Dire Straits
Aja - Steely Dan
Twilight - ELO
Turn the Page >>>> extended sax solo in concerts is a show-stopper >>>> INCREDIBLE !!!!!Lynyrd Skynyrd-Simple Man
Pink Floyd- Comfortably Numb
Great White- Rock Me
ZZTop-Sharp Dressed Man
38 Special-Caught up in you
Bob Seeger&The Silver Bullet Band-Turn the Page
Metallica-Sad but True
I can't pick a favorite. No way in hell but I listened to 30 Days In the Hole by Humble Pie last week. Forgot how good it was. Haven't heard it in at least 25 years.
Eddie VH crushes it on that tune.
Too many old songs in this thread. Some of my favorite relatively modern rock songs:
Bloodbuzz Ohio - The National
Backstreets one of his underated old songs but listen to Western Stars album way more than Born to RunBackstreets...Boss
Night Moves...Seger
Hey Jude...Beatles
Gimme Shelter...Stones
Shoot to Thrill...AC/DC
So many to choose from, but these on a loop for a week will be fine.
Three of my favorites as well..and many folks don't know them.Lithium - Nirvana
Come Dancing - Kinks
Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
Yup, there's a lot of awesome modern stuff out there if you try to find it.That group is the bomb, and tbh, although I am now in my 60s, I listen to ten times more modern songs than the old classic stuff that has been flogged to death 10,000 times, e.g., Lord Huron, Talk, Florence & the Machine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc.
Most of those Playing for Change videos are well done and awesome. The Playing for Change video of The Weight is awesome, as is When the Levee Breaks
Yep, same here. Classic 70s.Manfred Mann Blinded by the Light.
Singing it around the house when I was a kid I thought it was "wrapped up like a douche" 😆
Dream Police by Cheap Trick is epic. Listening to Best of...
American pie- Don McLean
Foreplay/Longtime- Boston
Dancing Queen- ABBA ( probably not rock)
Chicago before Terry Kath died was innovative and incredible. CTA is still one of my all time favorite studio recordings. This morning it will be 3 favorites of my friend from Rockford IL (who saw your post @niteshift) plus a few home town favorites by Cheap Trick like Want You To Want Me
Starting with this one
