Fantasy Football

My teams kind of crumbled in the playoffs. Looking like I'll finish 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

What sucked this time was that two different teams more or less lost because my opponent got huge points in overtime games.. Last week it was another 10pts for Chubba, and this week it was another 20 from a Burrow/Higgins stack.. all in overtime. Extremely unlucky, but thats fantasy playoffs. Wish you had more of an advantage for being the higher seed to offset the randomness/bad matchups (Washington against Philly last week, for example).. ive often thought that the higher seeds should be spotted 10 or 15 points.

But I'll take league regular season champ in all 3.

Tee Higgins showed up as well. I love the guy but he is always hurt. I'm out on all my games so just a spectator this year. That Chase and Burrow stack would have been great.
Indeed! Easily one of his best games along with the Ravens game a few years back when he nearly caught 200 yards.

Chase was great, but I feel like he also could have been even bigger.. Chases holdout meant he had a cold start to the season, and while he had some great games where he really popped.. it almost felt like a shared WR tandem, even to the point where Higgins was better at times.. especially as Chase drew the best CB (like Surtain last night). Makes me wonder if these two won't be closer in their draft ADP next year.

Noticed an interesting trend this year: all 3 teams that are about to win the title had a draft pick in the 8-9 range. Maybe its a coincidence, but I also think the top6 or 7 picks all had some problems. CMC lost season, CeeDee and Tyreek lost their QB, Chase had his holdout, Hall was lost on the Jets at times and even Bijan only just turned it up late. I think having a high pick means you're picking a guy based on what he DID the last few seasons, which almost inherently means a lot of usage and a lot of wear.

Another interesting thing: 6 of the top7 W/R/T positions were running backs and the top13 of 15 were running backs. RBs dominated this year. And it makes me wonder if there's some truth to the idea of keeping defensive backs on top and bottom of WRs, and if that's why receivers had such a tough time across the NFL. Might be good to remember for next year and if the pendulum won't swing to emphasize RBs again.

I don't see Chase and Higgins on the same team next year unfortunately and that is coming from a Bengals fan that would love to have both back. They can give him another franchise tag but risk holding out and he has previously requested a trade before. I expect Chase will be the top WR off the board. Chase still has nearly a 70-point lead over Jefferson in Minnesota. 4.3 more Fantasy PPG. Even with the slow start and the Bengals usually playing catchup the first few weeks with Taylor's preseason approach with the starters. As good as Amon-Ra St. Brown is, I would take the volume of Chase over him with all of the mouths to feed in that Detroit offense which is much deeper than in Cincinnati. I was fortunate to have both Chase/St. Brown in one league this year after parting with LaPorta earlier. I do see Cincinnati getting a extension done to keep Chase/Burrow tandem going on. Tee's draft position will no doubt rise on a new team if he is gone as I expect he will sign somewhere he is the clear-cut #1 option in the offense.

My son is in the championship game of his league, Small wonder as I have never seen a owner lose as many players as him to injuries.
Just a SMALL list :
Chris Olave
Christian McCaffrey
Dallas Goedert
Taysom Hill
Deandre Hopkins
Rahem Mostert
Nick Chubb
Isiah Pacheco
Rashee Rice
Chris Godwin
Joe Mixon
Chuba Hubbard was a HUGE loss for the championship yesterday as he was on a tear. He also lost of couple of kickers and a few more players I am forgetting.

I don't think I have ever seen that many injuries to top talent like that before. Hope he wins it next weekend. Would be well-deserved surviving all of that.

It is this week. His line up was :
Josh Allen
Jerome Ford (late waiver wire after Hubbard injury)
Joe Mixon (shit the bed)
Justin Jefferson
Darnelll Mooney
Davante Adams (Aaron Rodgers quit on the team)
Rome Odunze
Pat Freiermuth
Jake Moody (K 49ers tonight)
Rams Defense

It was a mash unit, and a couple guys didn't perform. Hell he got a break with his opponent leaving Alvin Kamara in his lineup. I told him to play Michael Pittman instead of Odunze, but both teams suck and Pittman hadn't done shit until yesterday. it didn't help him that McConkey, Nacua, and Mike Evans went off against him. Just those 3 players dropped 80 on him. McConkey and Evans 30+ and Nacua 23.

Even with all of his injuries, if he would have had Hubbard, and Davante Adams and Mixon had average games it would have been over. He needs Moody the kicker for the 49ers to kick field goals after field goals. it all comes down to a kicker, lol. But injuries and subpar performances happen, that is FFL. The $250 2nd place cash will help ease some of the pain. $500 would have been better, but $250 is not chump change. I suggested before Hubbard was put on IR, he call the guy and maybe agree to split the prize money. He didn't do it.

Nah, you can't do that. It's not about the cash, it is about winning, but by the same token agreeing ahead of time to chop the winnings isn't cool, IMHO.

If anyone is desperate for a final week TE add or just looking for bench depth. Chig Okonkwo is getting a healthy amount of targets. 13.9, 19.1 and 10.9 FPPG the past 3 weeks. Even had a 17-yard rushing attempt yesterday.

Love that guy. He was one of my favorites coming out in his draft class. If they can get him the ball, he can do big things.

Wait.. what? How does he have all these guys? Is this a 4-team league with a 15-player bench? lol.

What do you all think about Rex Ryan talk with the Jets? Says he expects to interview with them.

What a dump of an organization, now certifiably in last place of all 4 major sports leagues, if there was ever any doubt.

Last I heard they interviewed River Boat Ron Rivera, which would be so Jets like to hire that guy.

My honest to God hope, is that the Woody Johnson family private jet crashes into the Atlantic. Like, they survive, I'm not a monster.. but they have to swim back to shore and during this time the team has to be sold to someone else, and right as the ink dries to Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos signing the team and planning a new Upper West Side stadium, The Johnson family washes up to shore, alive, but with no team, and about 100 jellyfish stings on their balls.

Waiver wire. Some players who was on the roster early in the season, are not now. It is a 10 team auction style draft. I helped him and I always used the waiver wire and add/ drop to get the best matchups weekly unless a player is a stud / must start. Did you not read my post ? He has had a shit on of injuries. Some recent, some out for the year / IR. Hell he lost 2 kickers for the year during the regular season. All of the players listed above was not current roster, only the last post listed his starting lineup for yesterday. (3 WRs + Flex)
QB - Josh Allen - No need to carry a 2nd QB after his BYE week. It help add a extra skill position player.
RB - Joe Mixon
RB - Jerome Ford
WR - Justin Jefferson
WR - Davante Adams
WR - Darnell Moody
TE - Pat Freiermuth
FL - Rome Odunze
K - Jake Moody
Def - Rams
WR position was a premium (start 3 and can use 1 for flex) so he carried several. You could either have a roster built around WR or RB, so with starting 3 WRs it only made sense to draft or roster more than RB's. Especially with the NFL being more of a platoon at the RB position. He had stout RBs but lost SEVERAL to injuries during the year and Hubbard before the championship. McCaffrey, Chubb, Pacheco all finished on IR and in Pacheco's case, had just came back but was dropped. WR's Rice and Olave was on IR, all the other spent a good portion of the season on IR and was dropped for injury and poor production. Goedert and Hill also ended on IR.

Not having RB depth (ended losing a couple studs) is what got him beat. If he just had Hubbard he would have been fine, but he had to scramble and drop him and add Ford before the games this week. Mixon didn't help with his shit the bed game. He got 8 points combined from his RBs, Ford had 22 yards in the 1st quarter and never carried the ball again (another injury ?). His only other RB on the roster was Mostert and he got demoted to 3rd string. Normally Mixon and Hubbard would have been plenty at RB with his stud receivers, he just had too many subpar games for ALL starters other than Josh Aleen and TE Freiermuth. Jefferson had a OK game (17.2), but not scoring a TD hurt.

Such a circus man. Should be looking at Slownik, Brady, Johnson or Vrabel before these over the hill, washed up coaches.

There must be something about an auction league that I'm not familiar with. Because in a redraft, there's no way you'd have a team like that.

So for instance, how was he able to get CMC, Jefferson, Olave, Pacheco, Mixon and Josh Allen on one team? Thats arguably 6 guys in the top35ish of adp. Even if he didn't draft these guys, and got some on Waivers, they really should have never been dropped.. but again maybe I'm missing something about an auction league.

Edit: maybe if there's no IR spots to use to hold players (or even if there's just 1 spot), that might be why players could be dropped i guess. In the leagues I run/am in, no one is dropping a quality player unless they are out for the year or that league mate is a taco lol.

Some teams/players just drop and draft weird. In my 12 team league I think Josh Allen was early 4th. It's a live draft so there isn't an auto draft. But I drafted 6th and I had a choice of Hill, Chase, CeeDee, and Amon Ra. I picked Hill because Chase I was afraid of a holdout and CeeDee had not had a new contract yet. So many players fell in our league.
