Fantasy Football

My fun story for the night. Was down bad in one game(Tyreek hurt me bad) but was watching last night. I had Baker going and IF he could have a great game and Conner, McConkey and the LA kicker did something I would have a chance. Three quarters in and Baker looks bad and the last time I looked at the other game there wasn't much scoring. Turned it off and worked in the kitchen for a bit. Finally sit down and see that I am leading cause Baker decided to have a great 4th(feel bad for Godwin). I'll take it. :)
Tyreek about to see a huge fantasy boost for you again with Tua back in practice. Patience is going to pay off for everyone who has Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane. My team with Hill was 1-4 sitting in 8th place in a 10 team league. Coming off a couple of wins in a row, now up to 5th place. Dolphins already had their bye, that fantasy team should be ready to rocket off the rest of the way and climb back into the playoff picture if everyone can stay healthy. 2nd consecutive week going 3-0 with my 3 teams.

I don't know what to make of Hopkins.. personally I think he's washed and he was sort of on my DND list.

As for the Dolphins I'm a little more bearish. He hits his head again and he's done, I also don't know how mobile he's gonna be, due to the risk of getting tackled. They are 2-4 and he has to come back this week or next (and be 100% out there), or they might be 2-5 or 2-6 and then the season is over.

Hopkins may be done but it was thought the same about Hunt and JuJu. Andy Reid will get the most out of him and while he isn't the dhop of old he might be usable. I picked him up in a league and only had to drop JuJu.

Hill should bounce back in a big way but only if they are serious about their blocking. The Buffalo game was so bad even before he was hurt.

I had the #1 pick and used it on McCaffrey. Somehow I'm still 4-3 (10-team half ppr yahoo league). Have the lowest points scored, and the lowest total against me. An 8-7 record usually gets you in the playoffs. A healthy McCaffrey with fresh legs for the last 6 games plus playoffs would be great. If I can get one of these next two, I'm still in it.

Honestly, I'd trade CMC. Either do it now before he plays OR trade him after his first big game. I just don't see him being healthy ROS. His injury was already close to being season ending. And San Fran is gonna look to their RBs to carry the load with their receivers all banged up. On top of that, Jordan Mason proved to be quite a good fill in, so San Fran might very well go RBBC to some degree. Might see something like Gibbs/Monty.

Idk I'd be looking to trade him. You could get almost anyone, and then go pick up Jordan Mason when/if he gets dropped, and let CMC be someone else's headache.

I may put him on the market and see if I can attract a top WR. I'm still decent at RB without him. Have Allen at QB, who hasn't been as consistent as usual. But with the emergence of Ray Davis, the Bills offense is improving. It would have to be a top 10 WR, or else I take my chances on McCaffrey returning.

I think you could probably get a top10 WR. A buddy of mine asked about a trade of JK Dobbins for Scary Terry, so we were discussing the value. Terry is 13th in total points for WR on the year, and 5th over the last 4 games (when him and Jaden started to click). I'd maybe see if you could trade CMC for Terry AND maybe another piece.

I believe there is some owner out there who would give you maybe his 3rd or 2nd best piece for CMC. Now it may not be a top10 WR, but it could be like Jaden Daniels, Kyren WIlliams type of talent.

I have DK Metcalf, and he is top 10, but may have a health issue. The AI that graded my draft gave me an A+ with Allen and McCaffrey. They both won their positions last year by about 30 points. Knew it was too good to be true. I've been snake bit since the guy died on the field (thankfully resurrected) and cost me a back-to-back championship.

Had Kyren tonight. Just about money every week. Just goes to show how you can't always listen to the experts early. They were talking about how Corum was going to eat into his time, that he can't hold this work load, etc and he's doing fine. My hat is off to Darnold though. You have every body saying you can't succeed and you are making your comeback. Maybe not elite but better than before.

That was a bad one for me also. I had Allen and he had Burrow. Pretty much whoever scored the most between them was going to win the week(we were really close). Burrow comes down and hits that touchdown and I keep thinking whether they can make it up then nothing. Lost when I could have sworn I was going to win. Just the way it goes.

With the Titans being a dumpster fire and even a talented WR like Ridley unproductive there. It is hard to get a read for what Hopkins has left in the tank. DeAndre will no doubt will be better than he was in TN for the Chiefs having Mahomes throwing to him. How much though will be remain to be seen once Juju is back. Will note Hopkins still managed to be a 1,000 yard receiver with 7 touchdowns a year ago in TN with Levis & Tannehill which was up from his final season in Arizona.

Jameis Winston with an outstanding performance today. Big time win over the Ravens. 334 yards and 3 TDs. Tillman showed why he was worth the add with this huge performance of 7 receptions, 100 yards and 2 TDs. 28.9 points

Cade Otton the leading receiver for the Bucs, 9 receptions, 81 yards & 2 TDs. 29.1 points

Otten was HUGE.. but also HUGE against me in another league.

Man the Chicago/Washington game was dull. And of course I bench Jaden for Tua/Caleb in 2 leagues.

Kyler as a QB is so iffy to me.. he spends so much of the games looking like crap, and then pulls out some magic in the end. But i really get the feeling that he's too short to play QB successfully.

When I see Kyler(and others) I just don't see the fire to really do what it takes to win. I'm watching the game last night (I have Dak) and I just don't see it. Purdy plays looser and just better. Whatever he had last year doesn't feel like it's there now. They say that he isn't running the ball at all compared to past seasons and it shows. I sat Baker due to not having the weapons and my bench consisted of Tillman and Otton. Because you can't sit Hill, G Wilson or London right? And the guy I went up against had the Lions D so on to next week. Sigh.....

Gwilson might be OK because it seems he's the #1 option and Davante is more than fine to have a role where he opens him up.

Feel bad for Davante, actually.

Also, you can go ahead and drop the Jets defense (if you haven't already). Too banged up and the firing of Saleh was a big mistake.

The Jets just feel cursed that no matter what they do it's not enough.

They honestly might be. If there's ever a need for circumstantial evidence that voodoo, witchcraft, and curses exists, look no further than the Jets.

Lose one more game and I'll be going for the tank. Thankfully even the owner is starting to feel the heat. After a while, you realize he's ultimately the common thread here for the Jets woes. Hopefully he sells the team or just dies soon.

3-0 this week. Finally reached Diamond level in Yahoo Fantasy, which is any rating over 900 (out of 1,000). Not going to lie, I consider this a greater achievement than anything I did in my work career LOL.

I was seriously bailed out by Malik Nabers not getting to 12 or 13 points. I was sweating big time last night. However, I'm not surprised. Pittsburg defense is great all around, and Jones just can't make big throws. I figured it was going to be a long night for Nabers,

1st Place - 7-1
1st Place - 6-2
3rd place - 5-3

Feel pretty good heading intot he 2nd half of the season. My 7 win league I'm steamrolling my way to #1-seed and a bye. I will lose the value of Jordan Mason, so that will sting my RB corp. My 6-2 league, similar. Team is very solid on all fronts. Should be fine to make the playoffs and hopefully get a bye. The 5 win league is my 12-team, and while things are a little more up in the air, no one seems to have a great team, and I think I can hang with anyone. Jayden, Kupp/Terry/Olave, Bijan/JK, and McBride, is a good enough starting roster to win the league.

It's a great feel to go 3-0 for the week. I wish my week was that good. Nabers doing less helped you but if Jones doesn't throw that last int then maybe a chance for one of my leagues (needed another 5 points from Nabers). Still the best play of the night was the leg drop

Anyone here play fantasy basketball?

I'm in one league with friends. Lost Immanuel Quickley and Brandon Miller in game 1, first half, due to injury lol.
I drafted 3 teams this year. Lost Brandon Miller too as well as Dejounte Murray in another who was having a great game before the fractured hand. In 2 other leagues, I took a chance on Kawhi Leonard knowing he won't be available for a while on draft night and he is in one of the leagues I drafted Murray in. I knew good and well Kawhi would be hurt for an extended period, minute restrictions upon his return. Though a Leonard 2nd half boost was too appealing to pass up whenever he does get back into game shape and half of the league in free public ones usually stop paying attention by the new year. Also took a shot on Reed late in a couple of leagues. Dropped in 23.3% of ESPN leagues with his slow start.

3 teams?! Oh man that's too much for me with all the basketball load management and day to day shit.

I have the same philosophy for fantasy basketball: I don't want any players with lots of miles on them. Big injuries already? Pass. I aim to have the youngest roster in the league. Because like Dicaprio, I too, prefer young rosters.

2nd pick. Went Jokic, Brunson, Booker(a little older to start, i admit), Jalen Williams, Jalen Johnson, IQ, Brandon Miller, Zubac, Kuminga, Edey, Keyonte George, Terry Rozier.

Lot of untapped potential on the roster. Grabbed Buddy Hield and Monk to fill in for the injuries.

0-1 though, and i don't think I've never NOT started 0-1. I always run into a week 1 buzz saw where I have like 25 games and my opponent has 33.

100% agree, go with the young guys who will log 75+ games. Younger players in all MLB, NBA and NFL is always my draft priority first to avoid aging/injury-prone players that will sit out. I hate that crap too in short weeks. The same thing happened to me in fantasy baseball with that Dodgers/Padres series before the rest of the regular season started. Won all 3 leagues I played and on one team I only lost a single round all season. Probably would have ran the table in that league if not for the Korea series for LA/SD.

Curry is the only older player I took during the early-mid rounds in all of the drafts. Wanted to have him on a team since I almost never have had him on my teams in the past and get a productive year from him in fantasy before its too late. Most of my players logged 75+ games last year. Availability is the best ability.

Passed on Donovan Mitchell after taking him last year. All of his mysterious illnesses and injuries. No thanks! AD when healthy is one of the best fantasy players you can have, but I usually pass on him. I hate to admit it but Barkley isn't all that wrong with his Street Clothes Davis remarks. 3 years in his career he has played more than 68 games. Booker who has only topped 70 games twice and that was his first 2 years in the league.

LeBron isn't worth a top 10 pick IMO. 39 years old and load management. I haven't had KD on a team in 10 years with his injury history. Somehow KD plays in 75 games last year. Would not bet on him doing that again in his age 36 season. All of these players usually miss extended time. Same with Porzingis & PG3. I was willing to take a flyer on Leonard with a pick in the 90s over an aging Westbrook that will likely end up dropped at some point anyways. Kawhi did put up over 3,000 fantasy points last year, though his injuries usually go against my strategy of drafting durable players.

When you play in public leagues, you never know who you are getting in one with. I fully believe in one of them, someone has two team one of them. Within 2 minutes after the draft completed, look at this lopsided BS trade that got vetoed.

If you're looking for a #1 receiver halfway through now, Xavier Legette is now #1 in Carolina with the Diontae Johnson trade to Baltimore. The fact that its the Panthers doesn't concern me much. Johnson has been fantasy relevant all year and Legette is a talented, young WR to stash on the bench owned in less than 30% of leagues. Could see him being another Cedric Tillman getting all of the targets.

But he has Bryce Young throwing to him. Not sure I would say Diontae was relevant when that was the case for him.

Far be it for Bryce Young to show any improvement for the team to make the change back from Dalton, huh? 224 yards and 2 touchdowns against the #1 defense of the Broncos last week. 1 of those TDs thrown by Young was to Legette and beat Surtain for a TD in man coverage draped over him ought to say something about his potential. Xavier may very well be the last opportunity off the waiver wire for a WR to step into the role as a team's leading receiver barring some speculative injury that hasn't happened. Johnson has averaged 12 fantasy points on the season, #28 receiver on the year. Higher than AJ Brown, Amari Cooper, Worthy, Higgins, Hill, Ridley, Pittman, Doubs, Lockett, Keon Coleman among many more WRs owned by a high percentage in fantasy and that is with Diontae being out last Sunday too. But no he's not relevant lol. Legette has absolutely no one to worry about taking targets from him.

Well i AM still concerned about the QB situation.. and now without a #2 WR (whoever that is now), teams are going to key in on Leggette.

Not that I think your wrong, but, you really need to have a deep bench where you feel good about dropping someone. My one league I have Chase/Gwilson/Davante/Terry/Tillman gor WR. As much as I'm intrigued about Leggette.. idk who i could feasibly drop.

I'm not. He was able to beat out a corner like Surtain in man coverage for a TD, that says a lot about your capibilities as a receiver. I'm sure many of you all thought the same thing about Tillman drawing all of the attention but that didn't stop him last week. Like I said, this may very well be one of the last times you get a chance to add a team's #1 WR this late in the season. Thielen will be back and draw some coverage away opening up the field for Legette. He was still a 1,000 yard receiver with over 100 receptions last year. If that is your WR group, you don't need to drop a WR. This is for anyone who needs to go get one.

I don't think Thielen is going to matter, for better or worse. I can't see him drawing targets from Xavier, but I also doubt he's going to draw much defensive attention either. Not to mention hes older, could be a trade piece by the deadline, and will probably get injured anyways. Xavier will be safe as their #1 WR.

I'd still probably rather hold onto guys like Coleman and Tillman, personally. But it's not a bad pickup if you need WRs

Like I said 2 posts ago, Legette has absolutely no one to take his targets from him. With that kind of volume, it shouldn't matter who is throwing the ball to him. I never once said this was the same Thielen of his Vikings days in his prime but gave his production of last season as a basis of what he can still offer a team. Like Hopkins in Kansas City now, I'm sure he has enough left in the tank to keep defenses honest after a year of 1,000 yards and 103 receptions that you won't leave open. A trade hasn't happened yet but even if it does. That ought to prove he still has some value left to teams to spark interest him.

1st at 8-3
2nd at 9-2
2nd at 7-4

Essentially locked into the playoffs in all of them, but hoping to secure a BYE in 2 or 3 of the leagues. One league I basically have the bye barring something crazy.

My Jaden/Terry/BRob stack almost killed me this week, but got a little bit of luck with my opponents also sputtering.

One league I have Gwilson and Davante Adams, and I'm very concerned about them being my 2nd and 3rd wideouts (and 2 of my top5 picks). The Jets are such a mess. My 12 team league has been banged up all year, but still somehow in 2nd. I grabbed Allgeier and D-Rob SPECIFICALLY as insurance if Bijan or Kupp go down. This team is finally healthy and I think they will make noise. 3rd league I'm probably most safe BUT, there's a team lurking that somehow landed Jonathan Taylor because another team inexplicably dropped him. If that team makes the playoffs, he's going to cruise. (He has JT, Cook, Ajones, Saquon, Jordan Love, Amon Ra, DK Metcalf.

4-7
28% chance to make the playoffs.

I have scored 1397 points, which is second most in the league. Problem is, I have given up 1483 points, about 75 more than anyone else.

I still hate fantasy football.

That's the worst shit. And technically, you didn't give up anything. This isn't real football where you just have a bad defense. You just got unlucky week after week playing a top team in that given week (Not that you dont already know this, but I like pointing it out).

I wish there was a way around it. Like once you get 150 more fantasy points than the next team, you can convert it to a win in the win column lol.
