Fan thrown out of Rupp (sign)

The Constitution reigns supreme over all local government. If you believe you have evidence to the contrary please provide it.

You saying the constitution has nothing to do with the city Lexington or a government owned building is wholly unamerican.
People can be tossed for yelling vulgarities at players. I might be missing your point admittedly

I can't stand Calipari and wish he would have left already. But yeah, as an athletic program you can't allow a dude in the Rupp stands to sit there holding up that sign. Chances are good he was going to hoist it up during every dead ball and time out, and probably was going to walk around the concourse during halftime while holding it up. It looks bad tossing him from Rupp. IMO it looks worse if he's allowed to stay and continue holding up his sign [and invite copy cat agents of change].
Are you for real?

What started the civil war? And what did the civil war establish following its conclusion?

Civil war aside, have you ever heard of the Supremacy Clause? It’s article Vl, paragraph 2 of the constitution and I think you’ll find it quite interesting.
I understand what you are saying with respect to the supremacy of the Constitution over state constitutions but that doesn’t mean that the 1st amendment applies inside Rupp Arena simply because it’s owned by the city of Lexington. Show me where what you are saying has been taken to court and won. If you are so confident then I am sure Morgan and Morgan would love to talk to you.

So he was willing to put the sign down so that it would no longer be seen …but that still wasn’t good enough?

Funny thing is, WAY more people have now seen the sign because of UK’s heavy-handed effort to prevent people from seeing it. That approach completely backfired on them.
Precisely. Barnhart and his flying monkeys are reactionary imbeciles. Dumbest thing they could have done.

This statement is not accurate. State and local governments are bound by the First Amendment to the same extent as the feds. This is a matter of law that was settled long ago by the Supreme Court.
Through the 14 the amendment as I understand it. I’m not an attorney but I don’t think a city owned arena is obligated by the Constitution to allow free speech inside the arena.

Dude I don’t have to go to court and win a case to prove the constitution’s authority. That is an absolutely ridiculous take. The constitution protects the citizens from the government. The government owns and operates Rupp arena. You have yet to provide any legislation that supports your argument and I have provided plenty. Either support your claim with actual evidence or just agree to disagree and move on because I’m not going to take you at your word that the constitution holds no authority in Rupp arena.

You haven’t provided anything Proving your assertion. We will have to agree to disagree.

I haven’t? You failed to disprove how any of my evidence wasn’t relevant. And you haven’t provided anything besides your opinion. At all.

I suppose we will. Have a good night.

Yes it does. His line of thinking scares me because he still has yet to provide any evidence at all supporting his claim. He’s loosely referred to the 14th amendment which actually flies in the face of what he’s claiming. It really is surprising how little Americans know and care about their own country’s fabric.

Raise your kids well, evidently public education ain’t getting it done

Like a dumbass, I bought into the hype and bought tix and airfare to fly in for the Kansas game from Phoenix before the season started. Now, I'm torn whether or not I should wear Texas gear to the game

lol
People are really debating first amendment.

Btw, dude with sign is a rivals poster.

Saw where this dude is a teacher at Lafayette. And said UK basketball brought him and his dad close. Saw it on a Lafayette alumn page
