There are lots of signs- pictures of Oscar, etc. Positive signs are the only ones allowed it seems. That's weak on UKs part. IMO. Unless you can't have a sign at all.
The guy in my section hates Cal.Can't imagine the blue coats are happy right now either. Most of those guys have probably been UK fans for 50+ years.
I thought Rupp Corporation owned itThat’s bs. Tax payer owned public facility, he has a right to express his opinion. It’s not profane or porn. UK should apply this policy to Cal as well.
What’s his name now?😂His name was Robert Paulson.
His name was Robert Paulson.
His name was Robert Paulson.
Log off.By that standard all our coaches have been post Rupp.
Nah that's what the one mod with 10 sock accounts wants us to think. Screw him
There are codes of conduct on all the tickets. It’s pretty vague though. The guy should not have been tossed imoWait, Rupp Arena won’t let us or doesn’t want us to go to Texas?
20k “Go To Texas” signs will shove it sidewaysTime to make more signs my friends. Lets play. Make em throw everyone out. Make this a thing. This fires me up boy!!!! I think its the American in me.
Boston tea party time!!!
Beautifully said. If you bump into Cal, don’t be shy. Let him know he should be interviewing real estate agents and movers.Good on that fan. We need a lot more of things like this.
Log off.
"Kentucky basketball spokesman Deb Moore said afterward the man was given the choice of putting the sign away but refused and chose to leave."
I thought Rupp Corporation owned it
We could also breakout in song ... "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You". Kinda hard to throw thousands out.The crowd needs to all chant… Go to Texas… at every home game.
A valid use of our tax dallied; 2 officers wasted escorting someone out of a basketball for (checks notes) suggesting the coach should relocate.
I thought Rupp Corporation owned it
Rupp arena receives funding from tax payer dollars and is owned by the “Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.”I did assume since it’s a public university and staff including Cal are State employees, that the facility is State owned. I may be wrong. They do receive State funding in some way so our tax dollars are in Rupp. I was a State employee for 11 years till 2022 when I tried to blow the whistle down here in Paducah for abuse of public funds and violations of the State bidding process. This hits close to home for me.
Exactly why I abhor Twitter and never even created an account.Rupp arena receives funding from tax payer dollars and is owned by the “Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.”
This was 100% a violation of that man’s first amendment rights. And even so he complied with security and officers and agreed to leave the building. And they abused their power and put hands on him as he was leaving because he held it up one more time while exiting.
His sign did on advocate or call to action any violence which are the only forms of speech not protected by the first amendment.
Not directed at either of you: For the first time in my life today I scrolled Twitter (I’ve never liked the site/app personally) hoping to see UK fans defending this man’s right to do this, even if they disagreed with the spirit of it (just like I support your right to kneel for the flag even though I think it’s disrespectful). I was quickly reminded why I don’t have a Twitter. I don’t know why so many people live in a country whose very fabric they apparently abhor.
No no, they all sissies. That was Grom with the sign…
Combo of Ed, Bass, and Jload escorted him out.
I think next year they will have lower arena with a little help from TJ.Unless there is a specific rule for UK games that no signs are allowed, then they really shouldn't have done that. It's a very bad look. And I know the students have signs so I'm pretty sure there isn't a specific rule.
Best thing I've read on the board in weeks.I was quickly reminded why I don’t have a Twitter. I don’t know why so many people live in a country whose very fabric they apparently abhor.
I can't stand Calipari and wish he would have left already. But yeah, as an athletic program you can't allow a dude in the Rupp stands to sit there holding up that sign. Chances are good he was going to hoist it up during every dead ball and time out, and probably was going to walk around the concourse during halftime while holding it up. It looks bad tossing him from Rupp. IMO it looks worse if he's allowed to stay and continue holding up his sign [and invite copy cat agents of change].Absolutely pathetic on UKs part.
