"Experts" Now Say UK Possibly Losing Grip on Bol & Langford

I like Moses Brown a lot too. I think Jordan Brown is the better big if you are looking to play a Green, Quickly, Barrett and Bol along with him, thought. Either of those 3 bigs (Reid, Moses, or Jordan) along with Bol would give us an unbelievable frontcourt that will not take any scoring chances away from Barrett or Reddish.

With the latest Bagley news, I think Moses Brown, Jordan Brown, and Nazreon Reid, all come into play. Signing one of those 3, Reddish or Barrett, Quickly, King, and Bol. Looks like the best option without Bagley in play, Reddish and Barrett unlikely going to the same school, and Zion looking like a Duke lean.

1 - Quade Green
1/2 - Immanuel Quickley
2-4 - RJ Barrett
4-5 - Jordan Brown/Moses Brown/Nazreon Reid
5 - Bol Bol
With these 5 fighting for the last few rotation spots:
2-4 Louis King
3-4 Wenyen Gabriel
1-2 Shai Alexander
5 - SKJ
2-3 Jemarl Baker

Would give us the #1 class, #1 ranking, and the best chance since 2014 to win it all. Barrett, Quickley, King, and Baker bring the shooting. Bol, Barrett, and 1 of those 3 bigs makes scoring on UK extremely difficult. Quade is the perfect PG who will look to pass first and create opportunities for the other star scorers, and as we saw in the U-19 tournament, if you load up RJ Barrett with a team full of top notch stars, he is going to lead his team to a title.

I would take this class right now without spending a second thought.

I still believe that Cal will find a multi year player in the spring that shows Cal something he really likes despite not being highly ranked, to hopefully add a little continuity to the program's future as we saw the benefit made by Darius Miller, Josh Harrelson, Derek Willis, and Dominque Hawkins over Cal's tenure here at UK. I think that was the plan with Matthews and now it is hopefully what Wynyrd, Baker, and Shai will give us as Jr's and Sr's.

Regarding the comparisons of Bol to Skal, keep in mind that 80% of Skal's issues were defensive rebounding related. The dude was ok offensively but just couldn't get a board. Forcing him to play in the post offensively might not have been an optimal offensive decision, but it had little to do with his primary weakness.

Bol also seems to have legit range out to the three point line which makes playing him away from the hoop even more enticing than Skal's midrange game.

I just use a ouija board to predict recruits, along with my crystal ball and a few voodoo thingamajigs.

If indeed these rumors have teeth, could it be that Bol was offended by Cal and assts. not picking him on the Egypt trip? Langford and folks weren't crazy about his playing time over there either. These coaching gigs can be a two edged sword with recruiting. You make some new friends and possibly make some enemies as well. Just a thought.

Sounds like thin skin. Wouldn't last here. Work harder... I seriously wouldn't respect a coach to pick me just because, I would want to have to earn it.

When I was in school my Calculus teacher never praised me as an expert if I got 50% right on my exams. He threatened to flunk me if I didn't improve.

At my job I am constantly having to make certain predictions and if my success rate was anywhere near 50% I would be unemployed.

I'm not sure what percentage of the time these so called "experts" are correct but from I put absolutely zero stock in their opinions anymore. The term "expert" has become very loosely used. I prefer reading what certain posters on this board have to say than any "basketball recruiting guru expert professional blah blah blah". In other words, I COULDN'T care less what they have to say. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
