The college game has changed drastically over the last three or four years. It has become increasingly more like the pro game. Walking is rarely called and the game has become so physical, defenders can bang their bodies into the offensive player as long as they don’t slap them across the wrist. offensive players can lower their shoulder and bully you all the way down the lane bouncing you all the way without an offensive file being called. Just like the NBA there is now the continuation move, which was clearly saying in the Arkansas Auburn game last night. The game is now ,so physical, officials don’t really know what to do and are letting them play. At least this is the case in the SEC. I’m wondering when we get to the tournament will that be allowed or will SEC teams find themselves in early foul trouble trying to adjust to officiating from different leagues? Maybe it’s because of Covid and NIL but the game has evolved to the point that you better have three or four 6-8 to 6-9 guys who weigh 240 pounds and can shoot the three because the game now is all about getting to the basket for a dunk or shooting a three the mid range game no longer exist. If you watch women’s basketball, most of the teams are now shooting 60 to 70% of all attempts from three-point range and I just think the game has been ruined maybe by Covid or by NIL I’m not sure what has caused the transition. Am I wrong in my assumptions here?
