ESPN has Clemson favored over Kentucky Tues night

It’s our first road game. We will be underdogs twice next week.

We will learn a lot about this team. Just hope our fans don’t melt down if it’s a rough week.
Oh some absolutely will melt down. Already two threads about waning optimism and the team isn't that good.
Of course it's debatable if they are even fans. Probably a fan of a rival team. Bur even half of the real UK fans will melt down.

Barttorvik has us at about a 1 point favorite against Clemson and a 3 point underdog against Gonzaga.

Being 2-0 at the end of next week would be fabulous and would position us as one of the top teams.

News Flash: It's very hard to beat good teams on the road. Especially when they are going to be hyped up for a top 10 team and the greatest program of all time.
Agree. But have you watched Clemson play?
We won't go undefeated this season. We have weaknesses.
Clemson does too.

Arkansas gets main prime time spot
Good. The whole nation, including recruits, will be shown the out-dated, putrid offense he is still running. It should be a good announcement to the rest if the world that Cal is absolutely cooked.

…and then we can go put up 100+ on Clempsome.

Yet UK is undefeated and beat then #6 Duke on a neutral court after spotting them 10 points in the 2nd half.
If thats not enough, Clemson has defeated no one and lost to an unranked Boise St.

The hate is real.
It’s a hostile road environment. Ever watched the good Duke and UNC teams play there?

It’s fantastic that we have such a strong core of senior leaders this season. They shouldn’t be rattled. Carr has presumably played at Clemson a few times, no? The others know the drill.

51/49 looks basically like a toss-up. It's the first true road game. I can see us being a 2.5-3.5 dog. Duke was a great win, but it was a neutral site game. This is at Clemson. Won't be the last time our guys are underdogs on the road
I think we will be underdogs on the road 6-8 times this yr

Vegas Odds are chosen and moved with one goal in mind: to make money for the House.
So they try to balance the money wagered on a game evenly (50/50)

Proof? The odds move as the bets are placed.
Why does that happen?
Do the Odds Makers in Vegas change their opinion of who will win?
This is Espn odds.

If we all want to put stock into kenpom rankings then we can’t ignore Clemson’s ranking. Which is top 30. A top 30 team on the road isn’t gonna be an easy task. Could we shoot well and win by 15-20? Yes and I won’t be surprised. An if it’s a close game bc Clemson is playing above their norm I won’t be surprised either

I think it’s fair for people to question whether we can win in our first true road game. I think we can but it isn’t some obvious thing.

We need our outside shots to fall at a decent percentage in these next two games.
Can't miss wide open threes the way we have the last 2 games.
If our shooters are hitting, I don't think Clemson or Gonzaga can hang with us.
It was tough watching Brea and Robinson missing wide open looks, then also missing free throws.
Hopefully it was just guys not getting locked in for the teams they were playing.

You cannot follow ESPN metrics, especially in late November.

If we win, we know we really have something. Depending on the context of the game, a loss doesn’t mean that we aren’t that good. Plenty of teams struggle to win the first true road game. I hope fans are staying realistic and not looking past the game. I think if you win one of Clemson and Gonzaga, you are in excellent position for a top seed this year. The door would be wide open.
