What an a--hole. Just came o 41 and dissed UK. What a f---ing Loserville sshill

He's not close to a journalist. Like most of the CJ reporters they are UL fans or UK haters or a mixture of both. Only a few people there are UK fans or truly non partisan. Remember Lachlan on 840 talk radio? He was neutral for about 2 years and then became just insanely pro ul and anti UK. The psyche of that fanbase just can't handle non kool aid drinking people being in the city.

I had a buddy that was a lifelong UK fan that had season tickets. He did quite a bit of business in Louisville and had to get ul season tickets to keep some of his clients. He only went to a few games each year and just gave the rest away but it is insane.

UK has beaten Louisville by about a combined 900 points over the last three games we've played and he probably doesn't know the difference between a linebacker and the line of scrimmage. He can try to downplay UK's success all he wants, but if UL was 9-3, ranked, and playing in a bowl for their 10th win he wouldn't care who it was against and would be clamoring for a statue of Scott Satterfield.

UL is years away from being relevant or ranked in football (and basketball) and facing another steamrolling from UK again next year.

I believe we are seeing the beginning of the realization of some simple truths, even by hard-core Card fans:

(1) Card fans were accustomed to double-digit winning seasons in their“Mid-Major/G-5” days;

(2) For two decades, they convinced themselves that a transition to P5 would lead to further success, because they could beat a moribund U.K., and an occasional P5 “name” team in a bowl, such as a lifeless UF team in the Sugar Bowl.

(3) With Lamar, they won a Heisman Trophy, and it was a deserved award, as he did all but don Superman’s cape in covering the real weaknesses of their program, and allowing modest success in the beginning of their ACC participation.

(4) With the collapse of the Ramsey/Jurich regime(s), the character’s “who knew where all the bodies were buried,” were exposed, as were all of the buried bodies, in a ten year(+), “drip, drip, drip” water torture that has yet to go dry.

(5) Eight years into their ACC membership, even with a once-in-a-lifetime talent in Lamar Jackson, there has been nary a ten win season.

(6) The moribund football program down the road has awakened, and after 70 years has decided to fully join the SEC, with ten-win seasons now an annual possibility, and historic beat-downs of U of L an annual likelihood.

(7) And no one (outside of a small circle) cries for U of L: two (+) decades of “LPT,” and “slapdick,” talk and tens of millions of dollars of questionable internal waste has immunized U.K. from the creation of even the slightest sympathy for the Cards when Kentucky piles it on.

(8) And all of the above has left the U of L “community” sniping at one-another. Some yearn to return to the days of their illusory power, while some have avoided the Stockholm Syndrome, and see the sins of their past as the cause of their present suffering. And the lack of strength of a “house divided against itself” has been known since biblical times.

Another thing that has to be driving the Older UL fans nuts is seeing UC in the Playoffs. They remembering the Old Missouri Valley Conference days and how Cincy has made the Transition to being a Major Player in Football and UL isn't. Now will give Cincy the nod they they have Ohio where there a ton of Major College High School talent to recruit and the State of Ky. can't match that.

UC has 22 players from the 4 SW OH counties containing about 2M people.

They haven’t had a big boy line since they’ve been P5. Jackson just covered up for it for a while.

This post should be stickied at the top of the lair

The only thing I would add would be Mitch McConnell having to use his political pull to just get Louisville into a power conference. If not for him, they would be in the AAC right now.

Also, there have been 1 or 2 posters over there that have at least posted this or came to terms with it. A guy posted on there after the UK loss that pretty much said everything u did. They benefitted from playing in a conference that should have never had a BCS bid (at least after Miami/FSU/Virginia tech etc all left). They benefitted from UK not caring about football for decades. They benefitted from hiring and maintaining scummy staff that no one else in the entire country would have tolerated. They were lucky to have had the success they did as a commuter school, and should just appreciate that time they had. It was a very interesting. Of course a lot of the ones deep in the cult are still denying it and claiming he was a UK fan. But I looked at his post history and it doesnt seem like he was.

It's also interesting their new coping mechanism is we havent played anyone, and thats the only reason we have a winning record. Which I dont think they realize they are just insulting their selves. Some of them even claimed they would have had a similar record if they could get into the "weak SEC east" like us instead of being in an underrated ACC.

I’m saying it is close to an equal divide.

Half want Jurich back, and half are dawning in their realization of the depth of the hole left by the rot caused by and during those years.

Still don't know what he said...
I didn’t hear it but reading the Tea Leaves he appeared to downplay our 9 win season due to the sec East being down. Not giving uk any credit despite beating UofL like a drum.

If it's so disrespectful that it deserves a thread to discuss it, the least you could do is provide a link, or a "quote". Fake news. Misinformation. That would get you banned from Twitter...

Still no idea what he said. If he was critical of our strength of schedule then whatever, that's not all that unreasonable. I know I've looked at Louisville and Iowa's schedule with some serious (who did you beat) side eye.

We won 9 games and that's still an accomplishment. Certainly beats the alternative.

When ul went to the acc they went from the biggest name, with the biggest budget in their league... to being below UVA in the acc. They thought if they were in the sec they would be competing for titles every few years. They have no concept of how the real world works.

I read what he said. Screw him! He shouldn't be allowed at a UK game again.
Think it, but don't say it

Yeah, well f#@% that rat-faced little bastard. Nothing but sour grapes... and the knowledge that his alma mater has nothing to look forward to next year that won't be punctuated by another demolition by an "overrated" team.

Those fools still don't grasp that we are playing a different game in the SEC. ACC = Pillow Fight, while SEC = Barbed Wire Cage Match.

Louisville Football was build like a house of cards (no pun intended), and like all houses of cards it eventually caves in on itself. Their successful years were a combination of playing outside the lines and being incredibly lucky at recruiting the quarterback position with Bridgewater and then Jackson following him, they seem to have even hit gold again with Cunningham. Think where Card football would be right now without those three?

They managed to scrap out 6 win this year in what is probably the weakest P5 conference this season, but the ACC will get better with Miami, FSU and Clemson moving upwards, what will happen to UofL then? If they start missing the post season they will eventually have to consider moving back down to a lower conference like the Sunbelt. In the meantime they will continue to be dominated annually by Kentucky and may at some point throw up their hands and decide to opt out of the series.

With that shitpile he has to cover a few blocks from his office, I pay about as much attention to him as I do Jerry Tipton. Sad little men who could never cut it in the real sports journalism world so they resorted to National Enquirer style hit pieces to get clicks. To pay any attention to him is akin to listening to a child molester tell you how to raise your kids. They offer no useful dialogue.

Do you really think they'll ever leave the ACC for a G5 membership? I think they're married to the mob now... ""Careful what you wish for, Card nation!"

This was beautifully written. The most truth I have read in a long time. Awesome post.
