Eaglestaff De-Commits from South Carolina

There's a difference between committing and actually signing. A committment is just a verbal agreement. nothing is signed. Just like a high school recruit. they can commit all they want but they are still fair game until the signing period and they sign their LOI. after that it's hands off. If Eaglestaff never signed his LOI, then he was still fair game unless his agent shut it down. Fortunately I think all of our guys have signed their LOI's.
And….there’s the answer. Thanks true!

If schools want to take a stand on this NIL/Transfer era he would be the perfect way to send a message .

But tough to get every school to agree to it .
What’s funny is the low down dirty cheating Vols were the ones to take a stand. Shit has gotten crazy when Tennessee starts running players off for ethics. That’s almost unbelievable.

This may be slightly off topic, but it parallels the theme of this de-commitment.

At what time does a commitment become legally binding to the point damages could be incurred if either party breaks the commitment?

I know the good ol days of a man’s word is his bond, or a handshake actually means something….but what instrument is actually in place when a portal transfer “commits”?
I believe it is signing the financial aid scholarship. That can be done the day before the semester starts if admissions wants to allow it. Once class starts you must be enrolled for that semester to play.

I think maybe you could leave "these days" out. Almost 50 years ago I went to school with Mitchell and his younger brother Tritchell.
We had two brothers that were African American twins. Ones name was Barombi, his brother was Jerry. ???? That don’t rhyme??
