Duke winning Champ. with freshman hurts us in recuiting

You're comparing Duke fans to Nazis? Wow.
it's the best he has because he realizes his argument isn't very strong and isn't even closely based in fact. We won't ever have a run like we did in the late 80s early 90s but neither will anyone else. Besides that era what K has done since 98(which is pretty darn good) is very sustainable at a program like Duke.. Were there this many people screaming that UK would drop off after Rupp left? What about Dean? Or even Roy at Kansas.. Seriously Duke is 3rd to me in all time programs I don't see all this doubt in having a solid replacement lol. And as for the guy saying mods what have I done to be banned for???

I'm sure there are as when all those great coaches left because it happened. No Kentucky coach has won more than 1 NC, except Rupp.

I don't think there is a Duke fan on the planet who thinks Duke won't see some sort of drop off after K leaves. He is arguably the best coach in the history of the game, so yes, chances are we will see a drop off:)

That said, a lot of Cats fans here are saying Duke is going to fade away into nothing, without actually having anything to back that up. Obviously no Duke fan will agree with that, especially given that Duke was a national power before K arrived, has been crafted into quite the brand over the last 30 years, and would be seen as maybe the most desirable coaching job on the planet when K goes.

As far as recuiting i think coach K was going after 3 to 4 year players and now changing the strategy a little in the last 3 to 4 years to go after the OAD, i think hurts us.

this has basically been my point the whole time haha thank you.

Am taking my blue tinted glasses off and saying coach K has been getting some one and dones and its starting to pay off and now with the championship more one and dones are going to go there. Also our offense looked very slow compared to Dukes last year and we had way more talent to run and gun.

I think this is the biggest thing.........Duke plays fast & lets the guard shoot + they got the ball inside to the big man. UK had just as good a big man in KAT, but they did not get the ball inside to him consistently, + Cal played grinding style for some reason........with a loaded bench. He should have been running & pressing to take advantage of all the talent & wearing the opponent out

Duke has always had great shooting teams. Going back as far as I can remember back in the 80s. That is a constant. When they have an inside game to add to it, then those are the years they are most dominant.
