draft info

Paschal just announced he's going to the draft.

Square is another name to look out for.

The names that we should be watching for are:

CRod
Rosenthal,
Square
WanDale
Corker
Dort
Jones

I'm pretty sure McCall goes with Paschal and Kinnard.
I also don't believe that Devonte Robinson, Fortner, Ali, Rigg, Ajian or Mosely have the option to return.

This website is pretty neat. If I'm reading it right, it takes all the mock NFL drafts it can find and averages the projected draft pick per player. According to this, Wan'Dale has an average overall pick place of 73 in the 3rd round. Marrow said he would probably go if he got taken in the top 3 rounds so I'm guessing he's gone.

I think Robinson's size is going to take him down more than that. There are so many great receivers that are bigger and probably will be more durable than Robinson on that level.

Pretty sure Ajian can use a super senior. That is if the staff keeps a spot open for him and I see no reason why they wouldn’t.

Will be interesting. He clearly slid a bit this year but could be key next year. Could slide Vito to the nickel and Geiger to the other safety. Geiger isn't as physically gifted as corker but was way more sound this past year.

To me, he just looks short, not small at all, almost looks like a RB. That doesn't mean he will be more durable, any of them can get hurt at anytime. Just looks physically stronger than alot of WR to me.

I think it depends on what Robinson can run. Steve Smith was similar size…..ran a 4.4 and went in the 3rd. Rondale Moore ran 4.3 and went in the 2nd. Tyler Lockett ran a 4.3 and it went in the 2nd. Wes Welker ran a 4.65 and went undrafted.

Now certainly there’s way more to the draft process than just speed but it’s likely going to be a big factor for him.

Agreed, it will depend more on his speed than anything. He runs good routes and he's built compact, if he runs anywhere around the 4.4 mark, he will go top 3 rounds.

It's crazy to think that Welker was an average player his first 3 season with the Chargers and Dolphins, gets traded to the Pats and was a Pro Bowler 5 of the next 6 years leading the NFL in receptions 3 of those 6 years. Just goes to show that a lot of time it's about being the right fit.....and that Tom Brady can make anyone look good even a slow white guy.

I wonder if this would change anyone’s mind about coming back for one more year? Bully?

Regarding who can return for "COVID year" in 2022, I think you are correct on your list except for:

Ajian

I’m certainly no NFL guru but I think getting Paschal in the 4th round would be a STEAL. I’m also surprised Bully is a 7th round projection and even MORE surprised he would enter the draft if his feedback was telling him he was that low of a draft pick .

I agree on Paschal. If he is rated at a hard 4th rd pick, I would consider coming back if I were him. I think he could absolutely go in the top 3 rds with another good yr of production.

McCall is about right though. He hasn't really played a full season in several yrs. Also, unfortunately, he's a big plug in the middle that doesn't do a lot more than that. Guys like this don't get drafted very high in the NFL as they are not 3 down players. The interior DL that get drafted high are the guys who can plug the middle......but also rush the QB. McCall has 10.5 TFL and 1.5 Sacks over 4 seasons.

Have to think that Bully could improve his standing, but hope he gets drafted higher than that projection and has an awesome career. Seems like a really nice fun kid.

Wandale's size may not be a factor just thinking like the rich dudes that invest in them. The guy in the bowl game for OH ST is an example. Dominated that game and is bigger than WR. All kinds of guys like that at that position.

I wish the former Cats well in the NFL!

Rondale Moore's success is important to wandale. Rondale looks much faster but the size comp is there and shows wandale can produce if in the right system.

He really needed to work on punt return but really struggled when he had the opportunity early. Would've increased his value.

Has Kinnard officially declared for the draft? I’m sure he will, just wondering if it’s official?2

Ajian signed in the ‘17 class with Corker, RSed ‘17 [IIRC] and played ‘18, ‘19, 20, and ‘21.

This is from recollection: I first heard his name in game action with his pick against MSU in 2018.

If he and the staff wish, the COVID year of ‘20 is wiped, and he can return for ‘22.

And I hope he does!!
