I mean it’s a fact dent will be a top 5 player in the portal. Thomas is good but not dent level
The latest smoke is pro-UCLA. Barstool UCLA, former UCLA player and apparently Cronin’s brother have directly or indirectly said he’s a Bruin. No report that things have changed on the UK side. Not a question that can be answered with a yes or no as of yet unfortunately
Torres lives in LA and said he doesn't think it's UCLA as he doesn't think they have enough NIL to compete (said Cronin complained about this before). Thinks it's UK and said it could happen mid next week FWIW.
This isn’t directed at you at all for reporting the tea leaves….but playing for UCLA has to suck. Cronin is the worst and always grumpy and mean. The Big Ten affiliation means half the season you fly the entire length of the country. I love San Diego but the cost of living and taxes are sky high in Southern California. They don’t even project to be that good a team next year. I understand he grew up in the area but still….
I will say I always love listening to the UCLA post-game pressers after they lose as I just laugh at Cronin's comments. He's so miserable in the post-game pressers after they lose.
If he would rather showcase in that awful offense over ours then more power to him. Everything about this screams UK to me.

Smith is a better fit for UK at every level. Dent going somewhere like UCLA is the best non UK scenario. It could have been Duke🤮
Smith has to enter first, and there no sign he is gonan enter expect a dang tweet from his dad. Dent was right there.

Not with Cronin as the coach. Unless the ghost of Steve Lavin coaches the team I'm not worried about UCLA.
Steve Lavin was a terrible coach. You could have at least chosen Jim “Cheatin’” Harrick or Ben Howland if you weren’t going to choose Wooden lol
This will change whenever there are rules and revenue sharing that caps spending. Otherwise, regardless of what you or I think, this is what it is going to take to be our best.

On3 has it UCLA 38% and KY 33% they have been correct on the predictions so far and they have Obi 100% to Baylor

It sounds like we'll know soon on this. On our side is a better chance at a final four, better players, better coaches imo. But on ucla's side is the west coast, where he is from. We don't know which will win out. If we lose him on to the next.

This is just a calculation using their algorithm has based on hometown and interest/nil. They have no human predictions so far for him
I don’t know anything that everybody else doesn’t already know….but it really seems like the news is in a time zone related cycle. Late morning and afternoon Eastern Standard and it’s all UK chatter….late afternoon Western Time it becomes all UCLA chatter. I don’t think it’s a change in the ultimate outcome rather just when people normally post to social media accounts.
I don’t know what Dent ultimately decides to do—but you can’t beat transfer portal drama. I find it more fascinating than high school recruiting.
Pope needs to prove his mettle and snag this guy.
On Dent :
He's one of the top few players out of them all in the portal at the very top of any sane person's list.
Dent can come in and make a big impact for a team like Kentucky, at the reins. Lots of viable options to go that would make this a stop 5 team to start the year. Just soooo many combinations.
On Obi Agbim :
Not surprised Obi is getting a strong nod towards Baylor. I saw that once, and didn't think enough about it, but it sounded right, and I'd love to have Obi Agbim and all, but man, Baylor is going to have one hellofa great guy with him. He would've been lethal in combination with others too. Another good attitude player to have.
But there's other players they are already honed in on.
Personally, get Dent & Wilkerson , with Oweh coming back ... that's a lethal team right there. Already.

Only knew one guy named Dent....really good guy. Mechanic if i recall correctly. Brother owned a car lot
