I don’t care if we come back and win. The guy is extremely overrated. Good coaches don’t come out of byes completely unprepared. No one should be paid his ridiculous money and not have their team ready. This guy and his ball control offense is all he can do. Well that’s called playing not to lose and like his brother Mike, Mark has flamed out. The guy got paid and like cal he’s got it on cruise what a nightmare Barney has created for our top programs. Giving away millions with no accountability

I feel this! Look Stoops, we appreciate that you dug us out of the Joker era . But its obvious you have done all you are capable of doing. The 8th highest paid coach in the NCAA and you've never come close to performing like a top 20 coach.
As bad as some of Hal Mummes teams were I always felt like we had a chance to win with all the point we put up.
With Stoops teams it's the exact opposite. I always feel like we have a chance to lose even when when playing MAC schools.

It's just not fun to be a fan of Stoops teams

Watching this game is like watching some old school uk football. It’s bringing back a lifetime of losing

I disagree. Once again, we have a crap OL which is affecting everything on that side of the ball. Our secondary is very inexperienced. Both things are causing issues everywhere. We already know Coen will open the offense and I doubt that has changed. What has changed is personnel and position coaching.

We will always have a reason for Stoops to lose.

Couldn't agree more.

We all know your opinion of Stoops.
More fans need to have my opinion as this game happens.Stoops has run his course, time to move and upgrade the coaching staff if you want to compete for a division. Stoops has done some good things like prove that we can recruit well enough to win but we still are this player or that player short..UK still recruits at the bottom of the SEC and UK still are trying to recruit a QB that can take the team on his shoulders and win big games. Once that happens everything will fall into place IMHO

Offense didn't lose this game, Defense lost it......they couldn't stop running water the past three games

Bullshit. See ya next week, and the week after that, and this time next year.

You’re wrong. Stoops is the best we will have for the time being. The program isn’t attractive enough yet to to get the kind of upgrade you think UK would pull

I feel like some people think we can get someone like Saban, Dabo or Kirby smart will have interest. We would end up with Tulane's coach or some other non p5 guy and will be a 6 win team for half a decade. Repeat.

We're certainly not going to get Saban, Smart, etc. But I would bet anything that most of the top coordinator prospects and most of the top midmajor head coaches (Chadwell, to start with) would seriously consider an offer. After 2012, we took a chance on Stoops, and I have no doubt we could make a comparable hire, now. But it's academic, because Stoops isn't getting fired anytime soon, nor is he going to be a target if a job like Michigan opens up.

Brooks was twice the coach with less than half the facilities, less than half the money for coaches, less than half the recruiting resources. Stoops has underachieved and peaked.
I like Brooks just fine , but he’s like 30 games under .500 as a college head coach with a huge sample size . It’s just not accurate to proclaim he’s ‘twice the coach ‘ …that’s not selling Stoops , it’s just evidence

Doesn't take a name like that to turn a program around, apparently. See U6.

There is alot of coaches out there that can get 6 or 7 wins a year for 1/2 the price.
Exactly. Stoops has padded his stats (which btw, he's barely above .500 in 11 years) against 3 cupcakes a year, a down UL and a down SECE. But we have lost AT HOME to Mizzou, Vandy and S Carolina the last two years. Other teams are improving and we are not.

Especially
There is alot of coaches out there that can get 6 or 7 wins a year for 1/2 the price.
Especially when four wins a year are guaranteed ie three directional schools and Vandy. So taking away those wins what is our record over the last ten years. We hear the media hype each preseason but in the end we have a losing record once you write off the guaranteed wins.

The fans have done their part. But I agree with others that Stoops will always be playing for fifth or sixth place. And as they say if you are not the lead dog then the view is always the same. It does not really matter if you are playing for sixth place in the SEC or 10th place at the end of the day.

I have been a season ticket holder in football for 40 years but I am going to really think about whether I want to continue buying tickets to watch a team and coaching staff who are satisfied with a participation trophy.

If not Stoops then who will be the magic coach to take Kentucky to double digit wins and a playoff birth? South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, et als have been searching for that magic coach for many years and have gone through several including a few "can't miss" coaches, but have yet to find him.

I understand after another disappointing loss the fingers will be squarely pointed at the head coach and after all he is responsible for everything good and bad (btw the offense was really great IMO but the defense really fell down), but finding a coach that solves everything and plays great games every week in all three phases is most likely a pipe dream.

My problem with Stoops is that he does not seem upset enough after a tough loss like this.. It is as if we are OK with a participation trophy as long as the fans show up and buy enough beer and food to pay his inflated salary (8th highest in the country)

You’ve been around for Claiborne, Curry, Mumme, Brooks, Joker and now Stoops and this is the tone that you’re thinking about whether or not you want to continue having tickets?

I understand why people aren’t happy, but comparable to that group, Stopps tenure is the most successful.

Chadwell would be an absolute dream. He would come in and push this program forward. But that is a pipe dream , MB will not make a move nor will he consider Chadwell.

We’re not hiring a more accomplished coach than Mark Stoops. Like you said, it’s either a non-P5 HC or a coordinator - pretty much a crap shoot either way. One P5 coach I like who might listen would be PJ Fleck. Is that an upgrade over Mark Stoops? Maybe, I’m not sure.

Stoops will be here at least 2 more years, even if we lose every single game. Only way to get him gone is a fan revolt. Similar to when joker got Molly whopped by vandy at home in front of a high school crowd or when ut fans went ape shit when their admin tried to hire a stoops esque conservative coach like schiano. Fans just need to wake up and not put up with mediocrity. Only way to change things. Season ticket sales will be in the crapper next year, people won't believe the fake news hype again by the paid talking heads.

Fleck is 29-28 in the Big 10 conference , which is a bit easier than the SEC top to bottom . Brohm was 26-25 in the Big 10. Both no better than Stoops on paper. With Brohm , once the ACC expands with a new TV deal , or teams leave it for the SEC or Big 10 ….it remains to be seen how he’ll do , relatively.

Different eras. Losing at home to SEC teams that have recently replaced coaches. No excuses to be a decade in with these results. Mizzu is not a traditional power either.

True. But Fleck is still only 43 and Minnesota is a pretty tough job.

Well it is the time being as long as we keep him.

Only 10 coaches making the amount Stoops is. It's impossible to do better for same or even 1/2-2/3?

This will be Drinkwitz’s first winning season in four years at Missouri. I wouldn’t hold them (him) up as the standard just yet.

There are times where a guy might be the right coach for that moment. However, that doesn’t mean he’s gonna be the answer until he’s ready to retire.

Those schools strive to do better. They will keep fighting, scratching, and clawing to do what it takes to win. Look at Auburn and LSU. They’ve fired national champion coaches after less than two years. I actually respect that.

Unfortunately for good ole UK Barnhart is our captain and Stoops is our boat anchor. It’s time for a change. Stoops needs to go.

That is why there is an interview process. You can bet there would be no less than 20 applicants. Asking people on this board to come up with names is stupid. Just because we can’t provide names doesn’t mean Stoops gets a green light to stay. Wish some boosters would step in and force Mitch’s hand. Maybe Iowa will come calling.

24 first downs, zero turnovers, 4 penalties for a measly 20 yards. I say Stoops cleaned up several areas in the bye week.

Devin Leary was poised and effective. 28-39 for 378 and rushed for another 50.

A lot of teams will have trouble containing Tennessee's playmakers on offense. Their
backs and receivers are big time.

Of course, Stoops allowed one of his DB's to fall down and gift the Vols a long TD. He also allowed the refs to gift the Vols a FG (and deny UK another possession) with that farce call of a completion on third down at the sideline. He definitely needs to work harder on those aspects of his coaching.
