Does this team seem to be getting worse?

I could be wrong ,but this is not the same team i seen against Duke.

Seem frustrated ,uninterested, lost confidence. Its like they are not comfortable and spend more time looking to the sideline at Cal then just playing.

Against Duke these guys were cocky .tough and played freely making plays.

They seem tired to. uK takes a lot out of you on and off the court. And Cal riding you non stop the entire game seems to have Murrey frantic and confused.

Just not the same motor or play i seen against a tough Duke team.

Thats my point at the beginning of the year we defended. Shut Duke Down. Shot pretty well. Our glaring weakmess was rebounding.

Against EKU guards getting lay ups that much better Duke guards didnt get. Seems like a scared team playing. Not scared of other team but scared to make a mistake.

Cant play that way. Guess the word is tight. They seem tight when once they seemed lose and confidence

Ulis and Murray have got to start shooting/hitting some 3's..them 2 need to shoot 10-12 a game between them..both are 40% shooters..think Cal needs to tweak the offence to get them 2 more 3pt shots..Briscoe needs to drive to kick back for 3 if not a clear layup...

I dont think they are getting worse. Their best game was Duke so far, UCLA the worst, but things seem pretty steady. I think there will be gradual improvement. They made some careless mistakes today that will surely be cleaned up over the course of the regular season.

Who cares what Seth Greenburg says. UK often plays sluggish up until the U of L game. It is what it is.

I've seen more UK teams play like crap around and after Thanksgiving than I can count... Hope you don't lose any sleep overanalyzing it.

EKU has several really good one on one players. Tough to keep those guys out of the lane and our defensive rotation is not good right now. But we win by 21 so it can't be all bad. AP, Ulis and Briscoe played well and when Murray quits aiming his 3's he's going to go off for 40.

Agree with you about Lee, he may have helped. You're putting too much weight into the travel, though. Monmouth had to travel a longer distance.

UCLA really isn't that bad, yes they lost some early season games but they're young too and have good talent. The season could go either way for them depending on coaching etc but all of their players were ranked high coming out of high school.

UK shot 19 three's...they made 4. What more do you want in attempts? They honestly shot too many. We shot 21% from 3 and almost 69% from 2.

a lot of great points. it is early and I'm not panicking. think once Murrey gets the feel and Ulis finds his stroke it will open up the floor. But I am curious to see how we match up with a team like Michigan St in March. no way do I want to play them today. that's a bunch of men out there. not sure we are ready for that yet.

Tonight they missed a lot of open jumpers. Had a few of these went down it would be a normal game against a lesser opponent. The offense seems confused and their mindset is very fragile. I am hoping that the extra coaching and time away that the light will come on and the game will slow down. Willis probably knocks down every shot in practice- during the game it seems like he rushes every shot . This would be a good example of slowing the game down and knocking down a shot he has probably done a thousand times.

if you want my brutally honest opinion - I'm mad cause I'm frustrated. I'm frustrated - not because this team took a loss last week, it's HOW they lost; and even though we won tonight, we didn't really play a whole lot better.
Now, that being said - I do believe we'll improve; this is NOT a repeat of 2012-2013; by this time, that season, we were 6-3. And, IIRC - this was just about the time that Ryan Harrow had his first major disappearance of the season.
There is something going on with this team - and I think it's all mental. I was hoping for a better bounceback from the UCLA game; maybe the win instilled a little confidence and the real bounceback game will be Saturday.
