The next time someone tells you about oil companies pumping money into the "climate deniers" pockets, remind them that NASA, the source of the measurements, is a subsidiary of the US Commerce Dept. Not only does the government have more money than all the oil companies combined, by nature they are required to increase power to sustain control. What better way to achieve this goal? CO2 is a greenhouse gas. That is beyond dispute. We are dramatically increasing CO2 in the atmosphere to levels higher than they have been in 850,000 years and steadily climbing. From 300ppm to 400ppm and heading towards 600ppm before anything meaningful can even possibly be done to stop it.

Unless you can explain how it would be possible to dramatically increase the amount of a greenhouse gas in the atmosphere and not change climate then you simply have to be willing to ignore science (which many of you are) and instead believe in utter nonsense.

It is that simple. How do you increase the greenhouse gas content of the atmosphere without impacting climate?

The composition of the atmosphere did change/is changing/will always change. The degree that any those changes impact the climate on their own is in dispute - quite large to infinitesimal. Throw other events on top of that such as sunspots & volcanic eruptions & water content of the air & I think those that think they know close to the likely impact are way to proud of their thoughts.

I am not convinced one way or the other that we are effecting our climate change more than natural cycles do. But it amazes me at how one side is so incredibly adamant about our continued dependence on a non-renewable fuel source. Our industrialized civilization is very young. The non-renewable sources you are talking about are sufficient to sustain us for at least a couple thousand years going forward. Renewable sources will advance at their own pace over time. There is no pressing need to put undue pressure on society to advance them as quickly as possible. Don't pretend for a minute that rich people you demonize aren't profiting handsomely from alternative fuels.
