Do we deserve this crap?

And that’s where they are wrong.

1) it isn’t a Rudy story. It’s the greatest tradition in college basketball once agains showing that it doesn’t matter who is at the helm, this is still Kentucky. They are bitter it was at the expense of the media darling and it’s espn running cover for why they didn’t have a UK postgame script ready and still had to run nothing but Flagg and Duke highlights.

2) saying big corporations aren’t interested in Kentucky when they know good and well that the biggest story lines and views/hits almost always center around Kentucky basketball. It has the largest following in CBB…. So they have 2 options for views. Lead w us…or write hit pieces to stoke the fire and get views by pissing off the fanbase bc they know it’ll trend if the UK base gets fired up.

3) ESPN is no longer subjective college basketball coverage. It’s UConn and Duke alumn running a national version of KSR while pretending to be subjective on college basketball. At least their football coverage isn’t just a bunch of Bama and OSU ex players

4) Dick V is just an “old guard” coaches shill similar to Greenberg that would rather had seen us fail to prove that Cal was still the right fit here
Just like when we ran Tubby off or fired Gillespie. Now it’s we should have kept Cal no matter what. It only happens to us.

Williams' comments didn't bother me in the least.

Vitale's comments have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Much ado about nothing on both counts.
Yeah, Williams' tweet is just par for the course. Is anyone surprised? The only surprising thing is that he gave any credit to UK and Pope at all. He was itching to pump up Duke but the game didn't end as he expected. He really had no choice.

Vitale's comments are not surprising in the least. He's always backing up coaches, right or wrong. He gave UK fans down the road when Tubby left. He will always take the part of the coach and slam the fans. As for UK fans "obsessing" over Calipari, I'd say most are laughing at Cal and also seeking a little vindication. That was like a messy breakup and our EX is getting the attention but we're actually winning. So, Dick better get used to it. It's gonna happen at least for this season, through every first or similarity, and definitely when they come to Rupp.

Another Rudy story? This is UK not some division 2 school and UK was #18. What a d-bag thing to say
Apparently you have a reading comprehension problem. You’re the only D-bag in this thread. I never said UK was a Rudy story, I said that’s how he presented it.

Yeah I see all these Arkansas fans saying that when I comment in videos about them. I’m like your just mad everything I’ve said is already coming true. Like the early season loss to the only good team you played? Do you like struggling against Troy? How about having 6 healthy players? It’s the 3rd game and already Cal is missing at least 3 of his rotation players, he’s gonna run down the healthy ones. He’s already saying the same nonsense in press conferences. He doesn’t know who they play next, and some fans are seeing the cracks already. Exactly what we said would happen. Same coach, staff, and players. Different university.

They are already saying, “it’s early, we aren’t even healthy.” “Wait until Aidoo is healthy, and later in the year.” “Cal always tweaks stuff and they get good in February.” I’m like you all sound just like we did before everyone finally woke up and got off the hype train.

The tweaks acomin’!

Jay got a second half beat down that made Jay look like a fool
After talking at halftime about they were the deepest and most talented team since 2001 that loss made him look like a fool for sure. One, their talent couldn't beat a bunch of non future lottery picks and two because their "deep bench" gave them 43 minutes, 6 points and 12 boards while UK's bench played 68 minutes, 25 points and 11 boards.

I agree with your point to a degree

But on the other hand…..

1. Jay Williams gets on at half and rattled off how this is life past Duke teams that dominated with great players all over as if they have some depth. 8 players played for Duke. 2 guys played 36 minutes…and vanished down the stretch. Only two guys put up 20 ish shots. So his analysis of the game and team was not accurate

2. Vitale…oh where to begin with how wrong he gets in. Losing tubby would set the program back ten years….to now Cal and how UK fans should react to Arkansas. Please. How about how cal talked down to and meme called fans for his performance in the end

All in all, espn as a whole just is too much blathering opinions..//but they left the ranch when it comes to basketball analysis….so Ky fans can be nutty but many are able to see real basketball when they see it

We have Jay Williams addressing BBN (see other thread) and now Dick Vitale lecturing us about how we're trashing Calipari. My first thought is to lash out, because BBN is not one collective hive mind, so who are you to address us as such? But then....we DO have a lot of obnoxious fans. We're like the Cowboys, Yankees or Lakers. We can't control the outer fringe.
The bigger questions are, Why would anyone be watching espn if there’s not a Ky game on and why would anyone follow any of these shills on any platform??

Well, I do have to say the obsession some have of Calipari is just stupid. He's gone, we got what we wanted, now let it go, move on to our future. Some on here sound like young women who can't get over their Ex.

I certainly wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over anything Jay Williams says about anyone. And Vitale is a Cal slurper. Let 'em all talk.

JWill’s salt is not so much that Duke lost but that Kentucky came back from down 10 in the 1st half, 9 at half, 10 in the 2nd half and like 8 pts with 8 to play.

Duke led the whole freakin game, kinda like in 98 until mills hit the 3 with 2 mins.

Those clowns just knew they had us multiple times and they absolutely cannot believe UK won while locking the Devils down for just 26 after intermission.

These are the best kinda wins imho esp v those nimrods.

Kentucky took Duke’s pitch fork and shoved it up the Devils….

The way I see it they are analyst and they are free to say what they think, but fans are allowed to react to that however they want. If you are gonna complain about how fans are being fanatic then don't be surprised when they complain about your analysis of games.

If you want to be a prick and pick fights with the biggest fan base in the sport, don't cry about it when we win bring the fight right back at you.

Look he is a Dookie. I have no problem (off TV camera) with him being a Duke fan. It is when he is on ESPN and pulling for Duke openly that is bad. He can do what he wants in his car, on X, Tic or IG. Heck more power to him.

The devils went down to Georgia, looking for a game to win, they were in a bind because they fell behind with only seconds left again. When they came across these old men fiddlin with the ball, they were smiling, dancing and realizing they have what it takes to win it all....

You all can do this better. Pick it up, fix it and finish it.

Yep, I was guilty of those rationalizations when I was still sold on Cal. If those excuses were only necessary once or twice, maybe they would be valid. But we all know those excuses are always necessary with Calipari's teams. I don't understand the injuries, but there is no denying his teams struggle with injuries and I don't think it's just because he has "bad luck." And the need for "tweaks" is very familiar to UK fans, along with not knowing how to play a zone or how to attack a zone. Those are both coaching issues, not player issues. That's just the way Calipari operates and it's every season.
