Disgraceful officiating

So after not calling, not one, but two hanging on the rim calls, countless hooks, holds, and finally a 10-foot slide…that was worthy of a flagrant? I said it was a definitely a foul but a flagrant? C’mon.
Yes it was clearly no intent to play the ball at all. Flagrant.

First illegal screens called on uga with 6:43 left in second half when they were up by 9…. So the illegal screen interpretation is something completely compulsory…

There is something to be said about sealing the block down low, it can’t just be a moving screen like it is.

Edit to add no game should be this controlled by the refs. Don Daily has been awful.

Butler gets shoved in the back and then they call a foul on him

But regardless- we have got to get tough

These are veterans not freshman so that excuse doesn’t fly.

That is not close to what I said. Have you watched a game at Rup?. You are just a smart ass apologist but you do you.
An apologist for what? We are going to lose a lot of road games as will every team in the SEC. How does that make me an apologist? Whatever, not worth my time. You do you as I said.

Getting shoved in the back and the call is on you because you are not tough enough? Is your dad a ref or something?

get that SEC bubble team in there. That's also why they wanted o get the SEC tournament going again back in the late 70's, because it gave the league a chance for another team in the national tournament too, usually. Yet Kentucky has won more SEC reg season and tournament titles than the rest of the league combined.

atrocious officiating.

enraging

that is all

cant wait to see the circus at the HUMP

You think it somehow makes you virtuous to deny that the officials often times decide games. You think it makes you more of a man to bad mouth your own team when this happens.

whether it be blatant no calls on our end of the court...
blatant calls on their end....
phantom fouls, calling no traveling on georgia as their players slide across the floor.....
these rat effs could not wait to blow a traveling whistle against UK.

People who chirp about the refs not mattering have never played a second of serious basketball.

When one team is allowed to play Jordan rules basketball, while the other is forced to play by soft ass free flow rules, the latter will always look like they aren't as physical or playing defense. The truth is they aren't allowed to defend because they are called for fouls.

Our opponents live in our jersey. They slap, hold, push, pull our players out of position, and touch them on shots. No calls. If we so much as breath on them it is a foul, many times a late whistle. That sort of crap will get into your head.

That is flat out biased. Not sure why it is so hard to understand.
I couldn’t say it better. People saying officials don’t matter are clueless. I’m frustrated with pope for not being more vocal.

Officials do decide games. Been that way since I started watching games. Happens to every team on the road. It is never going to stop. That means we will have losses. That is not bad mouthing your own team, just stating a fact.

Absolutely horrible. Just flat out cheating.
It's just getting too difficult to see this any other way. I have two thoughts/theories:

1. Officials are betting on these games, or having someone bet on them for them so as to not leave a trail to the official.
2. The SEC allows/orchestrates these things for a reason like this; Georgia is getting poll/ranking votes and they would like another SEC team ranked. This also is (obviously) related to making the tournament/seeding/etc. UK is highly ranked, the thinking goes, so they can drop some games like this and still be ranked/make the tournament. Georgia needs some wins over teams like UK to bolster their resume and it's a much bigger deal for them to win vs. UK than it is a ding to UK in losing. I think the SEC does this in football all the time. It's just harder to do because there are so few games compared to basketball.

The lopsided nonsense is just too frequent to ignore at this point.
