For fans in their 30s or younger, Indiana has been less relevant in our lifetime than Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Butler. In the last 20 years they've done about as much in the tournament as Illinois, Georgia Tech, Memphis, and Gonzaga.
This rivalry is dead. It hasn't been relevant for thirty years. Honestly a rivalry with Ohio State makes more sense these days.

This matter will not be decided here. It is Cal's call, and I think Cal made his decision a long time ago. If Cal wanted to renew the series, it would have been renewed by now. But the networks will not stop throwing money at UK to renew the series, because that suits their priorities. Vitale is just a network voice.
