Defense

I know defense is a big concern, and I’ve complained about it too. I posted the other day in the thread about biggest concern going forward and defense was my answer so I did a little research and found this:

Byu defensive efficiency rankings
19: 217( before pope)
20: 117(first year)
21: 69
22: 99
23: 66
24: 40

So looks like the defense improved pretty much every year after pope was hired, I know the rankings still isn’t very high but you gotta consider personnel he was working with. Just thought it was interesting, defense still worries me but maybe less so after seeing this

Mark can coach. He needs both a full roster and a roster that wasn’t pieced together in a month. If we can get a defense in the 50 range it will be good enough to get to a final four. Question now becomes can he recruit the players necessary. I say yes, but we don’t know that yet.

Agree, with the offense we have we don’t have to have a great defense just a serviceable one
