David McCormack Unofficial Visit

McCormack listed at 6'10" 290lbs comes out of Oakhill Academy and is ranked 54th in Rivals 2018 class. He's taking an unofficial visit with us this weekend and I'm not sure what, if any, interest we have in him. I do know that he's also taking an unofficial to Loserville, so he could end up at either school simply due to the fact that Rick and Cal doesn't want to lose him to each other. Then again, both schools could end up passing on the 4* true Center. I personally think we'll still be loaded in the front court come 2018 and therefore feel that scholarships could better be utilized in the backcourt. On top of that, he does have a bigger vertical than Dakari Johnson. Then again, who doesn't have more hops than DJ. I swear I don't think you could've slid a piece of spiral notebook paper between the bottom of his size 13 sneaker and the floor when he jumped. I still love me some Dakari Johnson though. He reminds me of that goofy guy that everyone loves to hang out with.

I dunno if I believe 290 (unless that was before shedding some baby fat) - that would put him 40 lbs up on Nick Richards - but he's still much stronger built than most centers that age. Maybe 265 in that clip? It's hard to tell with young guys, because they can be huge but also have much lower muscle mass than grown men.
