Dave Baker....

I'm not one of his biggest fans, but he doesn't bother me too much during Kentucky games. I focus more on the games and the players than listening to Dake Baker blab on about things other than the game going on. It does make you wonder how some people who act like they know little about the sport of basketball can get such great jobs like calling Kentucky basketball.

I like Dave Baker. Joe Dean Jr. is the worst. When I listen to him I feel like I'm watching one of Joe Hall's teams from the 70's.

LOL! Would you do a better job? Kentucky fans will forever be spoiled because of Cawood Ledford. Dave Baker is qualified. He has a long background in sports journalism and knows Kentucky's program inside out. He will never be a legend, and he isn't likely to be plucked away by a big network. But he is a Kentuckian, and a Wildcat, and he deserves far better than your insults.

Nope I couldn't do better . Since you say so let's assume what you said about his qualifications are correct . Then he should stick to doing sports on the news , writing a column , doing pre game radio , or maybe sideline reporter ( but that gig usually goes to someone with a MUCH prettier face ) . I'm sure Jerry Tipton , Dick Gabriel, Alan Cutler , and all the rest have equal qualifications but they would be HORRIBLE doing play by play . Just like baker . Baker rambles with parade banter .

Cawood was the gold standard, most broadcasters have a saying or reaction that set them apart, I wonder if Dave doesn't try to hard for that sometimes. I thought he did a very good job at the football game last night..if they would just do their homework and leave some of the french pastry off it might help.

He is bad at basketball, he is even worse at football. Last nights broadcast was awful. The color commentator had to help him so often when he was wrong. That was probably his first fb game, so i will give him some slack, but based on basketball, I doubt he gets better.
