Dakota Holtzclaw went into greater depth on his commitment to UK with me tonight. Basically a big factor for him was the 'Cats recruiting him as an outside receiver. They were the first school to tell him straight up he can do that.
He knows there's not a lot of precedent for 6-foot-7 receivers, but he models himself after Calvin Johnson and believes he can do it. He's already running in the 4.5's and wants to get down to the 4.4's in the months ahead. Wants to improve his route running but he only dropped one pass all of last year.
Holtzclaw camped at Kentucky last year and thought he did okay but could have done better.
He said recruiting has definitely slowed down since he committed. He was at the basketball game against Florida on Saturday.
