Morning Legionnaires!

11° this morning with a wind chill factor of 1°. Warming up today with above freezing temps and a high of 35° expected.
Swimming weather. 😁

Need the weather to warm up quicker. Chomping at the bit to get out there to catch the elusive bass (last year worst year in years for me). Need to head to Bass Pro Shop in OKC with the gift cards I got for Christmas to replenish lures, hooks, and other gear that I either lost or broke during the season. Probably go with in the next week or so.

Last workday of the week for you grinders so, be safe out there and may God Bless you all.
Warrior I have spent the last two weeks at my Cabela's and re-spooling 4 poles. Have bought some new bass lures and even some little crappie lures just to fish my neighborhood pond. Almost got out 2 weeks ago when it got up to 50, but it was pouring the rain.
Am chomping at the bit to put a line in the water. Looks like in the 50's Monday in Lex.

Good morning folks. Cold as hell in the esat, but I understand warming days ahead.

Went for a long run pre-dawn, then had a morning breakfast with a former colleague who retired last summer. This is the guy who retired, then got told by his wife she wanted a divorce like two weeks later...Well, he's living the high life now. With another woman who is a recently retired lawyer from a well-known firm, so it went without saying she's in the chips. And he recently sold his house in the wildly overpriced DC suburbs so that even splitting the equity with his wife, he's sitting on just under seven-figures in cash. He's got a college gig teaching writing to stay busy and is volunteering at a free food warehouse to get exercise. Made me feel like I'm the crazy one to still be working, though I don't need the drama of swapping out my wife for a trade-in. She's already better than I could do on the open market, I'm sure, even if I didn't end up with a nut or a con artist.

So, back to work for me. A buddy who was in my crew that went into Mogadishu together and stayed through the hellish days before the US military arrived -- and then for a couple months after, is in town from Tokyo where he retired, and I hope to see him this weekend. Looking forward to that.

You all take care.
