D-League

And even that combined record of 19-36 is deceptive because THREE of those teams were low-level cupcakes with schedules filled with other cupcakes, and the teams Kentucky beat in the SEC had also beaten three cupcakes.

So, those 19 wins of Kentucky opponents include Eastern beating Tarleton and Utah TECH, and Akron beating Morgan State and Vanderbilt beating Alabama A&M, and Florida beating McNeese State, etc...Let's face it, it would be hard to have a 6-3 record without having a better win than Kentucky does...
Yeah 6-3 is really the minimum at this point in the season. Any less would be embarrassing. On the flip side, the losses were from teams with a combined record of 23-4 and a loss average of nearly 3 touchdowns. Granted UT was close but a loss is a loss.

Bert, I'm as willing as any native of Kentucky to exaggerate the wonders of the Blue Grass...But the Colorado River in Texas runs 862 MILES. That's further than from Cincinnati to New Orleans...Not sure even a middlin’ creek in Kentucky runs quite that far, much less a small one.

I was referring to volume of water. That 862 miles is through arid lands.

The Ohio river is only 980 miles, but it supplies half of the water that flows into the Gulf of Mexico via the Mississippi simply because the east is wet and the west is dry.

That was the point that I was making.

The Missouri is wide but shallow. The Mississippi and Ohio are wide and deep. The Potomac is wide but relatively a small volume of fresh water flows through it when compared to the Ohio or Columbia rivers.

In the St. Johns river in Florida you can catch salt water species in the river many, many tens of miles from the Atlantic. The flow is low and the tides from the Atlantic control the water level.

Talking about the Ohio River. I am trying to move, but still live in far western Ky. For many years I used to deliver shades to a customer in southern Illinois. I crossed over where the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers meet. One wonders why it is called the Mississippi after they merge. The Ohio looks twice as big and they say has twice the water.

. . . . and it does.

My wife turned 65 on the 2nd. Checking out Medigap vs. Medicare Advantage. Both have their pros and cons. Leaning towards Medigap. Any advice? We spent a few hours with an advisor this afternoon. Although she was supposed to be unbiased I got the feeling that she was pushing Advantage.

I am trying to learn that myself. We have insurance we can keep after I retire at the same premium so we will but I found out you have to have Medicare, Wife started with Part A and she now has part B, I've been trying to meet with the SS office. I sent in the document they stated they required but nothing changed. Will have to get more serious soon to ensure I am not losing a ton.

It's a learning experience. I'm trying to get as much information as possible that's why I started another thread on the Paddock. I have no doubt there will be some snarky comments but that's to be expected. It's kind of a crap shoot depending on unforeseen health issues.

I wish I knew enough to help you, but I am swimming in in unchartered water myself. I chose what I hope is a good Advantage plan and figured I'd kind of self insure on the deductibles instead of paying extra premiums. Was it smart? I don't know.

I would like to help you all on Medicare but as I retired from a railroad I have Palmetto and it is different, plus the railroad still subsidizes my supplemental insurance.

I know one thing, my health insurance, both Palmetto and supplementals costs a lot of money, to the tune of about $12,000 a year for Sherry and I.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 64°F and partly cloudy. Today's high may reach 80°F. Nice.

Spent two hours on phone with Dell tech support. HDD partition bad on new laptop. New drive scheduled for install tomorrow.

Cats play tonight.

Monday, Monday..... Y'all have a good one.

Thanks for the post. It's a few more years for us, but I'm a planner/thinker so have already been wondering. I may have some SS questions in the future as well.

Good morning everyone

This time change is not for me. I've been awake since 3:30 and I'm retired and didn't have to get up. Tomorrow wife and I are working election so we have to get up early and it will be a long day. I hope I can stay awake for the season opener tonight.

Bears came back a couple of nights ago and got into the patio again. Boy, when I sleep I guess I sleep good. We saw them (sow w/ 3 cubs) during the day yesterday and sure enough they headed down towards the patio. When they got about 20 yards away I stepped out and started banging metal. I was surprised they left as quickly as they did.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning folks. Up waaay too early because of the time change so back from a long walk.

Nice win for the Bengals last night. Not sure any team has better back-to-back wins than busting the 49ers long home winning streak and a wire-to-wire win over the Bills. Long way to go but glad to see Burrow playing very well.

Basketball season is here. I hope the Cats play a complete game tonight. Frustrating to have the season here and three seven footers not available. But it’s a long season.

Hope it’s a good day for all.

We're in a very good place on healthcare I think with a Medicare Advantage Plan sponsored by & restricted to retirees of my long-term employer. It's <5K/yr. I think it's that low due to the retirees restriction which means the typical person in it has above average health vs. the average person of the same ages. And you have to demonstrate you're in good health to enter it other than immediately upon retiring.

The Colorado river in Texas is a small creek in Kentucky.
The one in Arizona is the real deal during an active flood event.

Ole Rupp Rafters never ceases to amaze...

A poster started the game thread about 3 this afternoon calling the Cats, KATS multiple times. No MOD, no issues as people are posting away in it though another poster started a legit thread....

Yeah, a little thing but no one calls out anything anymore. You're okay I'm okay... Do what you want to do and I will support it. Nah, the skank's thread needs to be deleted.

If calling the Cats Kats is okay why is there a Cats Illustrated site...

Ridiculous...

Morning Legionnaires!

57° this morning with a high of 85° expected. 80's expected for the next few days.

The game; I fell asleep at the start of the second half so...meh for the first half. Too early to tell really. Watching the first half I do believe we definitely need at least one of those 7 footers for rebounding. Shooting? Still too early. Did like what I saw from Dillingham's offense and Sheppard's defense. He was hawkish out there. Still, I am only referencing what I saw from the first half.

You guys enjoy your day and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Cool and clear in the east. A beautiful fall day.

Good start for the Cats last night. A long way to go, which will include the painful adjustment to the 7-footers as they are available to play.

But the team clearly is fast, talented and aggressive. I hope it is a team that, even against elite talent, can dictate tempo on both ends. If teams can be forced to play at Kentucky’s pace, the Cats will be a challenge to anyone.

My son is settling into his new job in Texas. He got a pair of cowboy boots which was part of the clothing allowance that came with the job. He seems happy. All of my kids have settled into adult roles now. In a real way, it feels like the work of a father that I first took on 40 years ago has been brought to a successful plateau. Not finished, but the hardest part behind me.

Heading in to work. Wishing you that peace that passeth all understanding.

Good morning all,

Working from home today. My Darling and I will go vote at some point. Busy bee stuff now but required. I hope your days are fruitful.

Great to hear about your family MdW.

It feels good for sure when your children go out and make their own way. I am thankful for mine. They are all in the medical field and are gainfully employed. (Never foresaw any of them working in that field.. That's the funny part. It seems they are excelling as well.) Still have family issues but mostly growth issues. (They still bug the snot out of us for trivial things I'd rather they just handle themselves. ;)) I have many things I want to do... not bored to state the least but when... ;)

Go CATS....
