Of course everybody changes with age, but Willie has changed more than most...not only in looks but lifestyle.
Younger pictures of him to now...almost unrecognizable.
Like he was on a downward slide in life...and never stopped. JMO.

Willie changed because of his audience. He used to be clean cut and wore a suit and tie when he sang. He said that he noticed his audience wasn't like him at all. I guess you could say he found his people by calling out to them. Willie is as genuine and giving as any celebrity could be.

However bad your day is going -- It could be worse.

My wife just texted me from her hospital job that she is helping prepare a guy for surgery who is having a Penectomy -- and yes, that is exactly what it sounds like. No details beyond that. Not sure I want to know...
According to the internet and certain political beliefs, about 87% of people are born with the wrong equipment. Turns out you can't trust DNA to produce the right sex. Hair color? Sure. Eye color? Certainly. Sex? No way!

@BBUK : Here's a Yuengling for ya. Purchased at Pappy's while back home last week. Fruity. Medium on the mango. Nice 24 oz bomber.

OK, I have to admit that I couldn't help myself, so I had to read the article. According to some stupid study, it didn't matter how much money they made, or where they lived, people of color were breathing dirtier air. I guess pollution can distinguish your skin color and migrate to those who do not have light skin. Who would have thought?

Someone's going to swallow that bait with the hook, line, and pole. That's the brain freezing and confounding part

They will be unwilling to tie it to diet, food additives, medicine, or psychological environment. Pharmaceuticals in the water making people think stupid things? Naw...

Good afternoon!

Had to go back to Middletown today to pay for my golf clubs. Tony took my card when I dropped off the heads. He gave me a receipt and everything. As it turns out, he didn't run my card and charge me for them. When I went to pick them up the guy tried to charge me and I told him Tony had already charged me once. We asked him and he assured us both he had charged me.

Nope. Never showed up on my statement. He was happy I returned.

Been listening to Whiskey Blues for the last 2 hours. Not sad, just relaxed.

Oaks tomorrow. Gonna get a fire going in the big egg and cook up some stuff. Chicken wings will be first. Might just let it run about 250 the entire time we're out there and when the mood strikes throw something on. There will be beer.

Is it football season yet?

Grass got me again. Looks like it grew about 2 inches since yesterday. Would like to mow it tomorrow early but I can't because my tee time is at 0957. Don't want to bother my neighbors with a lawn mower that early. What's a man to do?

Knew there was a reason I didn't like air pollution. It's racist.

Wife is grumpy tonight and bitching about everything and was yelling at the dogs, then, she started saying it's going to be alright. I then said "not with you tonight" from the other room. She looks round the corner and says "What!" I Said "Nuttin Honey" and she says "Were you being mean?!" I said "Yes" She started laughing and said that she could always count on me to tell her the truth.

Crises averted.

Checked another Sam's Club and looked at their website. Still can't find the Sam's cola. ????
Wonder why, if it's available in OK. and it's not on their site?

Years ago WalMart had their own vending machines outside along with Coke and Pepsi. Their machine had either the Sam's cola or their GV brand (believe it was Sams) and I use to get it all the time. Think it was $.25 instead of the $.75 to a $1 of the others. Then they disappeared. I really liked the taste and the price.

There's a number of places around us by the old-fashion German Baptist (like Amish) that make their own maple syrup. One guy used to have an out building on his farm where he boiled down the syrup and sold it. There wasn't a maple tree on his whole farm. He arranged with friends, or contracted with them to tap their trees.
Thing that always got me is that it takes something like 40 gallons of syrup from the tree to make 1 gallon.

Got to go on a field trip in grade school to a place that we harvested sap and made maple syrup. Crazy how much it takes, but incredible how great it tastes fresh off the boil
Apparently Cal has learned and put in place how to "Un-Kneel".. (From reports read on the parent site.) I never thought he could do it. (Hasn't done it yet but it is trending in that direction.)

? What us this "unkneel" you speak of ?

Enjoy, my Darling and I are headed down that way after the 4th of July. Going to visit my Dad's grave. My brother's birthday is the 12th. We will drive from here and make it about a nine or ten day trip. I will set us up some stops/ sites to see. To the Kentucky/Virginia/Tennessee area then from there head toward Michigan. Will see my Mom's grave while there too.

Till the next time. Yeah, I vomit from the mouth from time to time too. Should be able to tell that as much as I type "sometimes"...

I stated a while back that the only way Cal could fix his situation was to figure out how to un-kneel. I still think that is the case but it seems he may have created a "reasonable facsimile thereof" with the prospective hires he's in the process of making along with a maybe spectacular class if he can conjure up a top point guard

In leiu of un-kneeling he may have pacified the fence straddlers and some others with the moves...jmo

We get ours from Walmart but, they run out pretty quick. Plus, we get the 2 liter bottles and not the cans.

Have fun. I'll return back there around July 4. Stay in touch. Perhaps we can meet up.

Ah. I see what you're saying

When my wife comes home from work raising hell about someone at work I tell her, "what kind of car does she drive baby......I'll go mess her car up while she is at work".....I'll mess it up so bad she won't get home before midnight........it works every time....she looks at me like I am crazy and we continue with our evening and she has cooled off......

Good Morning D League

Sitting here waiting for the sun to rise and it will rise. We should have a pleasant day with temperatures currently 64° wind SE at 3 mph. We will top out at 87° by mid afternoon with winds from the SW at 8 mph. Humidity will be 53% and the sun is going to shine enough to drive the UV Index to Extreme. The folks down at the beach will enjoy that.

Which reminds me of a time in the mid 1970's when a Canadian came down on vacation and stayed at Clearwater Beach. He was not use to the sun and took aluminum foil, spread it on the beach and drifted off to sleep. He literally roasted him self and by the time they got to him he was pretty much "toast". He died in Morton Plant Hospital that evening. Please don't use aluminum foil to speed up your tan.

I love me some shrimp scampi and we have it often. Always nice plump fresh Gulf shrimp, never frozen. There are two type of shrimp not allowed in my house. 1) Any thing from China and 2) frozen shrimp. Not when you can pick them up at the seafood market after they spent the night sleeping a few miles off shore.

Y'all take care and leave those Cokes and Pepsi be. They are worse than cigarettes. Trust me.

You don't see this very often

Speaking of the Blue Ridge mountains we were within a pen stroke of buying land outside of Asheville back in the late 90's. Retirement dream home. Now I'm glad we didn't. I believe it's the first city in the country to pass a reparations bill. Not sure if it stuck though.

My second cousin moved to Asheville from Omaha, NE. She said she might move back to Omaha because stuff turning crazy there.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 67°F and cloudy with spotty showers. Looking at 73°F for our high with more rain expected. We really need more precipitation to bust this drought.

Another NFL draft happening now. First round already in the books. Wildcat Jamin Davis went #19. Awesome! Jacksonville, with Urban Meyer as HC, of course took Trevor Lawrence with #1. Interestingly, Jax also drafted his Clemson teammate, Travis Etienne, with the 25th pick.

Derby tomorrow.

Happy Friday!

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

After a gully washer yesterday here in the Buckeye State, it's a beautiful sun filled morning. A bit cool with the high only maybe getting to 60.
Need to mow the yard but we'll see. Sun needs to dry the grass and I might have my little dog buddy over for the day. The Mrs is running with a friend to several garden centers. More flowers. More flowers. And, more flowers.
But I can tie my buddy up to his running leash and he can watch me mow. Time will tell.

Happy and safe Friday to all.

I had a cuz as well who moved to Asheville....from San Diego. She fit right in. She was (RIP) somewhat of a wacko. Got in trouble in Calif as I recall because she promoted herself as a 'Dr.' when she wasn't. Was into all the holistic healing, etc, etc. Her husband's a writer (I posted something of his once) and I've heard he's a bit weird as well, but don't know. But I did hear the other day that somehow or other (legal mumbo jumbo...FIL died...something with the house loan...) that he's in the process of trying to take his MIL's house (she is related as well).

I was married in Asheville in 1967. It was a small to medium size city in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. Now. It just another example of what liberalism can do to a community. Asheville is probably one of the most liberal cities in America. I think they must have transplanted thousands of people from San Francisco. North Carolina has really changed over the years. Durham is pretty much a ghetto. Charlotte is very violent. i have a cousin who is pretty much stuck there because she is getting to old to move and her grandkids, children are all in the area. She would like to return to her Florida home.

Sometimes change is not all the great. Especially when your city is in decline.

It is a shame because it's a beautiful city nestled in the mountains. The decline started about 20 years ago and has steadily increased. We loved staying at the Grove Park Inn or a chalet up high. One year we stayed on a llama farm bed and breakfast in Clyde, outside of Waynesville (1994). That's when we started discussing buying some mountain land in the area and building a log home when we got closer to retirement. It was close, really close but I got cold feet. Possibly the best thing that ever happened to us.

I'm not sure why the sudden turnaround. Maybe it was already happening and we didn't see it. I do know that several of the Hollywood elite bought homes there, including Tom Cruise. That could have been why so many nut jobs started moving in.

Good Friday morning, D League

We have partly cloudy skies with 74° and winds WNW at 2 mph and humidity 86%
UV Index is 2 of 10. The high will be 79° at 1:00 PM and stay that way until sunset. Winds wil increase to WNW at 7 mph, humidity drop to 69% and the UV Index will increase to 9 of 10. I trust all have a good day.

We had a nice sunset on the Gulf last night.

Good Morning all,
Have a great day doing what you do. Keep in mind God's goodness and spread some of the blessings he gives you daily with those you meet. I'd sure love to feed you if I could but my Darling made an out of the ordinary late breakfast for me today. I am eating the below after I finish typing along with a nice cup of coffee. I am thankful! God Bless you all...

Eggs, extra sharp cheddar, and smoked turkey... (On potato bread)

After the pest inspection it seems I do have termites in my 2 maple trees but nothing on the house. The estimate to go ahead and spray the house and trees with Termidor was $1,750 and to do bait traps instead would be about $850. Since this is my first issue with termites I am not sure what the best step would be. I think someone on here used to work in the pest control business. Should I just purchase some termite spray at Lowes and spray the trees since I don't have any at the house or do I need to pre treat the house too?
