D-League

  • And Good Morning to all of the D-Leagueanites and the Lurkers.
  • We have 73º in Cumming right now. Pretty day.
  • All of the bloomers are doing it. Lovely time of the year.
  • A little cooler temps predicted for the next few days.
  • Granny had a huge Pecan tree.
  • Are there more commercials this year? It sure seems like it. 10 minutes of the movie and 4 minutes of commercials.
  • from Butcher Holler.
  • Lola is right here. She is enjoying being outside. She yaps at everything and everyone, if they are not too big. I don't care.
  • Both Rotater Cuffs hurt me.
  • Knees are not hurting too much from that fall Sunday. That's good.
  • No wildlife moving.
  • Nothing going on here.
  • If the police stop you, do what they say, don't run and don't fight them. It is not Rocket Science.
  • As you were.
  • Carry on.
  • Get well soon.
It should be common sense, but I guess it's not so common nowadays.

I checked long-range forecast next week during my upcoming visit to KY and TN. Temperatures slightly below average. Sounds good.

Got an email today from WalMart inviting me to give them a proposal to supply them with goods. I'm going to pass though. A few years ago we made some goods for a third party who sold to WM. WM sent an inspector to look at our shop before they'd take the goods. That got us on their supplier list. Reason #1 to turn down: I had a very bad experience with a set of tires I bought from Sam's Club. A tire came off while we were doing 60mph and WM was a butt about it. Reason #2, I'm just old enough I don't want to fool with it. #3 I don't have enough employees to do it anymore.

Years ago when I ran a company I went out to Bentonville for some meetings with WM. To me....the most arrogant buyers who would squeeze every dime out of someone's product price. A very unpleasant experience.
Sent them a letter and said thanks...but no thanks.
I would imagine they may be even worse today.

Back when K-Mart was big, some acquaintances in the business were much bigger than me, working over 200 people. They did a deal with KM. Said it was the worst thing they ever did and was a major contributor to why they went under a couple of years later.

Got 2nd Moderna shot Monday. Tuesday legs hurt, no energy and tired. Sore arm for couple of days with the 1st. Feeling better today.
We have our 2nd scheduled for Friday afternoon. We'll see what happens. I'm worried this kneeded vaccination complications might create a hard hearing, confused old man with poor vision who enjoys trolling.

One link... (This wasn't the interview I was referring to but I couldn't pull that one up readily.)

Loretta will live on for generations. My 23-year-old daughter insists we crank her up on every road trip from Maryland to Kentucky - Coal Miner's Daughter but also several others like Fist City and her personal favorite...

Home again. Soggy out there today and also cooler than I thought it would be. Better than mowing grass.

Playing a scramble tomorrow. I'm ready for it.

There's a pecan tree across the street from us. Two acorn trees in the backyard, This place is nuts!
Haven’t been able to get on the Golf Course this year because of back problems. Mri scheduled next month. Hoping for an answer then.

I don't know if this is the right spot so here it is......I just purchase two Byrna pepper guns......they shoot a pepper loaded projectile effectively up to 60 feet.....I got Crimson Traced lasers for each one......they are non leathal........you don't need any kind of license........anyone else heard about these......my wife works at a local hospital that has quite a few drug users as patients......they go to the parking lot to get their dope........they make the employees walk through the main parking lot to a parking lot on the next block........I mainly got the pepper gun for my wife........she has a .380 but doesn't carry it.....she said she would be more comfortable carrying this gun......

Pecans are something we do not run out of around here. I have a very close friend who lives in Dublin, Georgia and he has some of the best pecans in the South coming off of his trees. He keeps me supplied.

And speaking of left overs. I am a left over lover. In fact I make huge pots of chili, vegetable soup and beans just to have left overs. To me the left overs taste better, especially chili.

I can't get over the picture below and every time I see it I get tickled. Here we have a motorist with a flat tire. The man stays in the car and his girl friend gets out. A Florida State Trooper changes the tire for the man and his girl.

I wonder what she is telling the trooper? They don't make traffic stops like this any more.

enhance

Yes they doooo. I've driven by one. (Don't know if a fella was in the car, tho.)

Just watched 30 for 30: Last Days of Knight about the fall of Bobby Knight at Indiana. Informative documentary. Love 30 for 30 series. Probably a little too one-sided from a neutral perspective. I actually began admiring Coach Knight quite a bit during his time at Texas Tech. Ha ha, probably because he wasn't coaching against UK.

Thanks a lot. Was actually feeling younger than my years today for a change.

This makes me think about when Van Halen broke up, which makes me think about the line about the tshirt from the Wedding Singer, which makes me think about Adam Sandler, which at least makes me think of Waterboy and that hit on the college professor.

Now I'm feeling tired and old again, because that's too much thinking before sleep and too early to be this tired.

Gonna wake up tomorrow to Ain't Talkin Bout Love

Know a sales guy that sold WM over 4M worth of product for the company employing him. Took him 2 years to get in the door, 2 years to make the deal, and never got paid his commission because the company owner was a douche, and it killed the company afterwards anyway. They actually made the company CUT their prices in subsequent years to keep them selling their stuff, and they had trouble keeping up with WMs demand AND their existing mom and pop base. Had to go to cheaper ingredients and lost their loyal customers. Wound up being bought up at BK by a competitor that knew better than to put all of their eggs in the WM basket.

Unless you get your goods from China or the like, it's a good way to lose your shirt.

If there's ever a "vintage" grape jelly packet shortage, I found a stash from early 2000s when I was going through some stuff in storage... people like those vintage vintages. Has to be worth as much someday as some of those hoity toity, dusty bottles of fermented grape juices, right?

Oh, and when paint can openers run short I'll be buying everyone bourbon.... as long as I don't need one at the time. Those critters are downright elusive when I walk through the door with a paint can and a brush

Don't know anything about them, but they might work for my sister. My better half always carries a 38 Bodyguard, but she's told me fifty times, "If anything happens, I'm handing it to you."
That is my situation with the Director......she doesn't feel comfortable packing........me....I don't give a crap.......I am beat up from working in construction most of my life........I hung signs for a while, farmed for a year but other than that I worked as a carpenter........I couldn't whip my way out of a wet paper bag........I am 6'-4" 215..........I might not look beat up but I am.........what I have.....I have earned......no one is taking anything of mine without resistance from me......I have to have some kind of help.......I don't really like to carry but........what are my options.........

That sounds to me like you are just like the people that helped found this country. It's to that point in this country as it is today. We have little to no hope of help from those tasked with doing so, as their hands are tied or corrupted in some places more than they are empowered. The reality is that we have to stand up for our families and our communities against those in the political sphere that refuse to do their constitutionally mandated jobs.

I'm right there with you, sir.

Good to have a weapon. I do not know about that one but a piece of advice. Give your wife a third or a quarter piece of a jagged old red brick to keep in her pocket or her hand while walking. Just a less than hand-sized piece will do. Use the imagination as to what raking someone's face with that ever so slightly will do to an attacker. It will instantly put that person in misery.

Take that from a slums of Detroit used to be hood.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 68°F, cloudy, windy with a chance for rain later this afternoon. Cold front coming in. Our high may reach 70°F. We'll take it.

Suitcase is packed. I pick up the rental car at 4 pm tomorrow afternoon. My goal is leave NLT 2:30 CST am on April 17.

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

A real shame they censored many of her songs. Fist City, You Ain't woman enough to take my man.... and several others. They need play as they are real good songs but the Censor Police do away with most of them now.
I hear those two songs pretty often on Willie’s Roadhouse channel on sirius satellite radio. i’ve been hooked on satellite radio ever since it came with a truck i bought about fifteen years ago. public radio is pretty much unbearable nowadays—mostly commercials.

Develop just one good right punch straight to the face and repeat as necessary or develop mind control:

I've heard about Byna pepper guns on the radio. They're wanting them to become an option for law enforcement. When they do, rest assure someone will start complaining, saying they're inhumane or something. Criminals are thought more of than law abiding citizens nowadays.

Good morning D League

Good morning D League

We have a current temperature iof 65° and sunny, winds are 11 MPH with 1% chance of rain. Our high will be 79°. Very pleasant with that Gulf breeze.

In state politics the Florida House denounced democratic socialism on Tuesday with a resolution calling it a threat to American democracy. The GOP holds a 79-36 majority. So in Florida Democrat Socialism is a threat. Now we already knew that but it is official. Maybe they will put it on license tags.

This ole boy from Yulee ain't worried about no Democrat Socialism. Trust all have a great day.

Who would have known that we had our Honey Baked Ham 11 days early?
But I guess all is good, no harm, 'cause we had a Honey Baked Turkey Breast as well for the same meal (Easter)
