D-League

Been busy and have not posted today.

It has been a good day.

By the way I have not seen Rooster today and I have a question for a biologist.

I went to the Higginbotham Buckingham Cemetery Friday and I need to ask @_Rooster a question:

What kind of mosses are these:

Whats shakin’?
Been a helluva 3-4 weeks for me.
Everybody hang tough.
Could be better, could be a lot worse.
Everyone is suffering at home, at school, and at work. Simultaneously, we're seeing what appears to be the manifestation of exploitation of that confusion by intentional societal deceptions while focused on domestic concerns. Many are seeing and experiencing this in our lives. The evil of this despair is real. So must the enlightenment of our response, that's why we pray for wisdom too.

Jaguars once roamed the Texas countryside. Recent sightings suggest a few might still be out there.

A few males wander into Arizona from Northern Mexico. We may not have the females, with their smaller territories, for them to take up permanent residency. I'm sure we could establish a population if that was a scientific focus. Like the wolf, management is political not biological. Lots of fake BS around predator ecology.
Here's one of the 3 being week studied here in Arizona after being poached.

Looks like here in the Berg, it's going to be a washout on the meteor shower, going to rain into the morning! I am still going to get up around 4 and check it out. Seems like it does this every year, rains on the peak night. If not may try tomorrow night, there will be a few stragglers. I think there is a web site that shows the shower.

Night D!!

The Kelly green moss with the tiny white flowers likely an Irish moss (sometimes called castle moss).
the gray bryophyte a silver lichen.

Been a helluva 3-4 weeks for me.
Recovered from COVID with no issues, except...
About the time I recovered my back started acting up. I think it was aggravated from lying on my back so much when I was coping w/the rona.
Sciatic nerve has been killing me this week. I got prescribed an anti inflammatory, steroids and got a shot all to no avail. Was finally able to do exercises starting yesterday. On top that the Cats have sucked. Yeesh.
My brother is still recovering with his bout of COVID. He was in the hospital for a week on oxygen, never on a ventilator though.
Everybody hang tough. Cats will still get it together by March...if there is a March.

Could be better, could be a lot worse.
Damn OEC you need a break. Best of luck to you and your family.

Good morning D League. Out for a hike before settling into the work week.

Continued prayers for Bev.

Two my kids trekking in this week, daughter from Austin and son from Lexington. Should help ramp up the Christmas spirit around my place.

I hope everyone has a great week.

Good Monday Morning D

We are currently 70° clear scattered clouds and no active alerts in the Gulf. We are not for our high of 75° and we will have a steady 14 mph wind from the WSW.

I trust all are well, if you are hurting may the Lord bless you and touch you.

Like Neal Boortz use to say....any day that you're vertical is a good day.

Morning to all. Haven't posted much...been busy with who knows what. Ever have a lot of little things that don't amount to much and you sit back and wonder where the time went?

Austin.....is this not a special day? National Gripe Day (for our Rafter friends), etc?

I tried an antenna, but my location(in between hills) kept me from picking up the local stations.

Especially WOWK, which the game was on, since their tower is closer to Charleston. If another game is on, and they are still not carrying the channel, you are welcome to drive in to my house to watch. That's why I switched to Spectrum, along with faster internet speeds, since my grandkids have been doing online school work from our house.

From the sound of it, I didn't miss much.

[laughing]

Every day, even a perfect season, is National Gripe Day on Rafters.

What I've noticed about them is that if we are not winning, it's all about Cal and how he can't coach. If we are winning, it's about the uniforms, logos on the floor, the crowd isn't loud enough, we don't get enough practice time in Rupp, Mitch is putting too much money into football, etc. Those people have to gripe about something, all the time.

Milk truck from a nearby dairy lost roughly 10 milk crates early this morning containing 9 half-gallons each of buttermilk. Milk all over North Lamar Blvd. What a mess.

Ouch, profit. I've been craving buttermilk lately too. (I don't want it that bad but will see about grabbing a quart the next time I am in Walmart (Before the price goes up due to the apparent shortage now. ;) ) BUT, .................................................................................................. No use crying over spilt milk.. (Yeah, I know, slap me for it but it fit.) 🤭

Oh, Good Morning and, I DO hope you all have VERY happy holidays. Jesus IS the reason for the season! God bless you all and your families.... I pray you have Joy and a Merry Heart... (It doeth good like a medicine.) (Took that from the bible.)

They are good at it though Sir. Practice makes...

I can't stand buttermilk. My Dad loved it. Would dip his cornbread in it. As a kid I would almost gag.
Buttermilk is health food.

It is healthier than whole milk, one cup contains 100 calories and 1.3 grams of saturated fat. Whole milk contains around 150 calories and 5 grams of saturated fat. I love it with cornbread and if my wife can do one thing it is make cornbread.

Had a friend of mine who a few weeks ago stopped at a Mickey D's. Has about a 15-20 year old F-250 (maybe 350...it's a big one). Diesel. Had a bracket holder on his gas tank break which led to a leak in the tank. Don't know if it fell and cracked/leaked or if it had been rubbing and started leaking. Police and fire dept had to be called to clean it up. He got hit with a $3,000+ bill.

Our friend Gassy is a supposed lover of soy. It's healthy too....just sayin'. 😊
