D-League

Sitting here with my nose running and my eyes watering but my belly tummy feels sooo good. Whipped up a quick batch of chili in the keto way of life. No noodles, no beans.
Used a pound of 80/20 and a pound of hot sausage. Added two cans of Rotel with green chiles, small can of sliced mushrooms, sliced jalapenos, sauteed half an onion, and added the chili powder that I make. Didn't measure the chili powder and probably put just a bit too much for the average person. Mouth will quit burning in about a half hour or so.

Dang! Just found out that the UK v ul football game doesn't start until 1900. No way I'm going down to that inner city cesspool dressed in my UK duds under the cloak of darkness.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to suffer through sitting here on my magic couch watching the game in 4K HD while sipping a fine bourbon. I'll get by.

Way to go Warrior. Way to take care of your fellow men. They had one chance to catch you and you took it away from them. Hope you're happy.
Overwhelmingly happy when I was leaving them in the dust. My last PT test I was 39 and still running well, there was a post Sergeant Major who took his with us. He was a very good runner because he trained like I did, everyday. He lead most of the way but, I had a better final kick and ran past him at the last with a 12 minute 14 second 2 mile time. He had a 12 minute 17 second 2 mile time. Needless to say, he was not happy with me.

Hello D league peoples!

It's been a crazy couple weeks for me.

Work is crazy. More stuff to do no increase in pay check.

And the boy fractured his arm a week ago in two different places resulting in a cast for 4 weeks. Then he got a virus for a couple days. Got that cleared up and then came down with a stomach virus for a day. Then today he was diagnosed with RSV and ear infection. Breathing treatments (already better actually) until his cough is cleared up.

As you can tell this is why I haven't got to post a lot.

The football and basketball team? Yuck. Hopefully they are better this week.

Carry on!!!!

Good luck to your son, hope he get's better soon. Isn't he only about a year old? I didn't think they were breakable at that age.

Sorry to hear all of that bad news. Hope he recovers quickly. Poor little fellow.

My sister died in 1996. I often wonder if she would have died so young if she had not smoked.

Folks today don't understand how cigarettes were marketed back in the 50's and 60's. Smoking was the cool thing to do and the marketing worked by hooking millions of folks.

What bothers me now is the pro-pot guys are lying to folks and telling them that pot is harmless. Well it ain't, plus you are putting hydrocarbons into your lungs and it is not even filtered. Sometimes our culture screws things up.
Seems like my wife gets some kind of health magazine in the mail everyday, because of her line of work. Anyway, i was reading one yesterday and it said at it's height, roughly 52 % of America smoked, this in the 40's thru the 60's. Now it's down to 14%. so that's a good thing

20 months. Yeah who knew?

Theres a girl down the road here that is roughly the same age as him with a brain tumor. My problems aren't even close to that

People would be shocked to learn how many people hospitals kill. They cover it up when they screw up.

Oh, thank you vets for your service. Get out there and get your free grub.
Years ago one of my aunts had an operation. The operating team left a pair of clamps in her stomach cavity. She got paid and recovered after months of agony.

I smoked from elementary school until about 19. Football coach caught me smoking and the whole football team got to hit my rear with a belt. They would get sued for that today (I was sneakier after that).Three days of miserable obsession with wanting to smoke. Two weeks of wanting to badly but not having to.Two years of smoke still smelling good. 55 years of smoke stinking. I got tired of paying 25 cents for a pack for cigarettes.

Made some today as well. Pound of ground beef, half pound Jimmy Deans hot sausage. I would like to make it hot as you do, but the wife can't tolerate hot food very well. For me, the hotter the better

Excellent time.

At age 39, during my last APFT, I ran a 13:58 2-mile.

At age 39 I think I may have trotted a couple of times for short bursts.

Just helping an employee changing a headlight bulb of a 2014 chevrolet equinox. Please look this up. You'd better go to a dealer if you have half a brain. Whomever designed this should be shot on sight. You have to remove the bumper and grill to change a bulb.

It's for your safety Don.

My work vehicle is an Equinox. You’re exactly right. It’s a bear to just do routine maintenance

Morning D men and women.

23° with a high of 40° expected.

Getting ready to go to my shop out back for a one hour workout before work. 6 days a week whether I really want to or not.

Need my Geritol. Do they actually make that stuff anymore?

Looking forward to the holidays, taking from 20 Dec to the 8th of Jan, off from work. Do that every year and then regret having to go back to work. About 5 years and 8 months before I retire.

NEED MORE COFFEE!

Heck, I could do two miles in a day, so what are you bragging about! :flushed:

Hot and humid here this morning. 74 and supposed to get to 86. We are supposed to cool off by the weekend, but I have learned weathermen here are like they are everywhere else, They are FOS. They have no more idea what the weather is going to be than my dog does

Nothing but cupcake city for the BB team until December, we need some cupcakes. Buffalo beat that Southern Illinois team that we played by 10 last night. I don't think that's a real good sign for us.

Hope everyone has a good day, and hope all that is ailing start feeling better

Cloudy. Currently 36 with a high of 37 for today. How do fellow D-Leaguers feel about flu shots? Thinking of getting mine today.
The great influenza in 1917-18 killed 50,000,000 people at the end and following WWI. The great Kentuckian Abraham Flexner helped invent the flu shot, won the Nobel prize and built Jewish hospital in Louisville (the street it is on is named Flexner).

Unless you are allergic to eggs, I suggest that you take it. Even if you catch the flu the shot will make it less debilitating.

  • Good Morning, D-League
  • 72º and sunny with puffy white clouds. Air is fresh and my sinuses clear.
  • For some reason I slept until 7:00 this morning and now feel like a Peterbuilt truck ran over me.
  • The pot of coffee my wife made woke me up. .
  • Reading the temperatures from D-Leaguers around the country makes me have a chill. My wife's folks in Kentucky said it is cold up there. But the good thing is it is hog killing time and on Thanksgiving Day they put up the hams in the smokehouse. They do it good. If you want to eat well all of your life marry a Kentucky farm girl.
  • Lot to do around here and I best get busy.
  • I am still trying to figure out why we can't beat Tennessee even when we are favored but after 50 plus years of this futility I accept it as part of life. Tennessee is either better or they want it more. They do own us but Stoops is happy because he won 7 games.
  • I am out of here while I still have my sanity. Or maybe I don't have my sanity.

Listening to the Jones show and just heard some sad news. News that should bring about change. We all know how bad Louisville is this year, so bad they fired their coach before the season is even over. Well, as it turns out, our offense has put up 8 more yards this season than they have. 8.
