D-League

Coaching, pure and simple. Pruitt is light years better than Lyle Jones. He doesn’t accept half assed effort. And I think Georgia just beat y’all twice...last game AND this one. I’m rooting for y’all the rest of the season, but don’t take Middle Tennessee lightly. They can put up points.
Middle Tennessee is pretty good. I have watched some of their highlights.

Hope they don't bring Chollie back. Tell the truth though, with all the stuff they've been through and are going to go through, I don't think their football program will be back for a long time. They were able to build their program on being in lower leagues that allowed partial qualifiers and convicts. They touted a culture of anything goes that some players find appealing. If that culture has gone away, so will those players.

Cheerleader dies of drug overdose in football players dorm. Player says he wasn't there and didn't know anything. End of story.

It really is amazing how far they were allowed to stray and how many facets of university were malfeasant.

UT beat the shit out of UK. Why?
Rooster's Rant
Too much emphasis on Snell. and I think Terry is better suited as a tailback in next seasons offense.
Our offense is pathetic and we can't beat anybody in the SEC playing like this. Touchdown Terry has demonstrated he needs a change. This experiment didn't work and Our opponents have lots of game film on him and know exactly what we are doing..
The big boys figure out how to beat your system (they have no passing game).
I try not to be an armchair QB but it's just too easy for opposing teams to figure out what UK is going to do on offense this late in the season. Predictable.
In the SEC you cannot succeed running a one dimensional offense.
Just ask Snell.and I'm disgusted.
Coaching has been slow to respond. Their conservative strategies worked then were exploited.
Stoops hires air raid coordinators and then won’t allow them to run what they want. If he wants to run a power run offense, hire coaches that run that style of play. Three air raid coordinators running offenses that look nothing close to an air raid offense.
Gran is the issue, not Wilson. He just has a playcaller who has no idea what he's doing.
I'll butt in here. Being old school, we need both a QB who knows what happens when you don't throw the ball over the big fellers head and a OC who understands that and open up the tool box. I agree with Austin that Terry is an extremely versatile back playing out of position. There should be options outside the pocket
We need to throw the ball and You're already losing, what's the worst that could happen?
We put Gunnar in with 4 minutes to go. He threw a pick.
Not enough time. Open it up for crying out loud. Play Gunnar, Terry, & Benny. Create some confusion. It would be a lot harder to contain Benny if you had to pause for a second. Thanks.

I watched the Tyra press conference. He was asked about the buyout money and he said they had it in a rainy day fund. Hmmm...

He admitted that he did this to try and win the last 2 games, that it was better to start now and reinvigorate the team rather than wait til the end of the season. If we don't beat them this year I'm done with Stoops and this staff.

Thanks to all the vets of the D league..Hope the day is great for ya

Ditto here as well...

The loss yesterday was disappointing to say the least... just trying to be polite. Gotta be able to handle success.
Outside today for about 3 hrs, "winterizing" things. Putting up lawn furniture, burning limbs and stuff, organizing garage, etc.
Mens group from church had our fundraiser yesterday. Made 650 lbs of sausage, only took 10 of us about 3 hrs to cut, grind, package, & clean up. We net about $2 per pound...pretty good & quick way to raise money.

This week sucked to be a Cats fan...gotta take the bad with the good.

For you Florida guys.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 48°F. Expecting a possible freeze tonight, our first of the year.

I survived Veterans Day. Hit up all 4 places on my list. Paid out a bunch in tips, but it was worth it. Got enough leftovers for lunches for the rest of the week. Next year, we're off on 11/11.

Leaving for KY-TN on 11/17. Looking forward to the trip.

I'll check back later. Y'all behave.

Maybe if we lose the last game to them they will keep the interim coach thinking he did a great job and they suck for a few more years.

Good morning D-League Currently 64°F with a high in the mid 80's. Air quality is excellent and running conditions for those who run is very good. We may get a light rain tomorrow which is fine with me because of all of the landscaping I did last week. I have 8 more shrubs to plant that my wife came up with. She finds plants like South Florida finds Democrat votes.

I had a nice Veterans Day with family and friends after church. Enjoyed some fresh Gulf seafood with my cousin down in Indian Rocks Beach. Good people but he is a Gator fan. He said he really felt bad about UK losing to Tennessee. (they hate UT too) He asked me what is wrong with our offense and I tried to change the subject and talk about stone crabs. Because I had no answer. I don't ever see us having a powerful offense with this staff.

I guess I need to download a UK basketball schedule because I have no idea who we play next or when. I still have football on my mind but now that reality as set in my thoughts have to go in a different direction.

That's all I have. The sun is starting to come up and I need to find my shovel and go to work.

They're all in on Brohm. Guys who are coming up to play now have no idea who he is. Louisville fans remember him but very few other people. If he was a hot commodity then it seems like he would have been somewhere besides Purdue. I ain't skeered but I also am hoping hard they don't get him, just because.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites, disappointed Wildcats and Lurkers.
  • 39º rainy and gloomy in Johns Creek. I'm in. Didn't even try it outside.
  • The coffee is fine as always.
  • Lola is laying on a heat vent. So she is getting comfortable.
  • Everybody is mad as Hell, and they are going to take it evermore.
  • MTS will probably beat us since we cannot score much. and they can score.
  • I just don't understand why we fold our tent season after season. Frustrating. I don't know why. I hate losing to Tennessee. Oh, well.
  • #3 is in Paris. Thought he was going to get to shake hands with President Trump, but it didn't work out. He looked very nice in his dress blues.
  • Take it easy all.
  • Carry on.

44.4°F here with heavy overcast. I expect it to rain. My phone says it may rain, but I am usually better with my ankles hurting than my phone.

Last year UK folded in football late. I expect nothing less this year. We got to the top ten and fold like a cheap suit.

Basketball has a very long way to go. I was disappointed in the two exhibition games. Duke skunked us. Southern Illinois outplayed the Cats. We don't have a very big challenge until Seton Hall on December 8, so in the next three weeks Cal needs to develop some sort of defense.

. . . . . . . . . .;

Sad day for us today - the memorial service for my wife's best friend who recently died from cancer in her early 50s.

I know the pain. My sister died of lung cancer at 53 years old. She did her Ph.D. work at Vandy and when she got cancer she wanted Vandy to treat her because she thought they were the best on earth. Vandy killed her in 6 months.

The worst time for you wife is ahead when she wants to confide in her friend and she will not be there.

Sorry to hear this Bert. That lung cancer is an odd cancer. My sister in law died of it two years ago, on the anniversary date of the day she quit smoking 9 years prior, she was 58. My sister is 63, has smoked like a chimney for 50 years, and just keeps going. I can't even begin to tell you how many old Railroad men I worked with that died of it

My sister died in 1996. I often wonder if she would have died so young if she had not smoked.

Folks today don't understand how cigarettes were marketed back in the 50's and 60's. Smoking was the cool thing to do and the marketing worked by hooking millions of folks.

What bothers me now is the pro-pot guys are lying to folks and telling them that pot is harmless. Well it ain't, plus you are putting hydrocarbons into your lungs and it is not even filtered. Sometimes our culture screws things up.

I think you make a very good point about smoking pot. Now I am not an expert because I have never been around it. I haven't seen it except in pictures. But I do know this. It burns and produces smoke. If you inhale smoke deep into your lungs it can not help you. It has to harm you. Unfortunately it took America about 75 years of smoking cigarettes to get the message. 50 years from now don't be surprised to see millions of pot smokers start developing all types of lung issues, coughing and spitting up blood. Smoke in your lungs is toxic.

My parents did not smoke and discourage us from smoking. I attended UK where cigarettes were given away (4 cigarette samplers were all over campus) Just pick them up. I went into the army where cigarettes were free and samples given out at the PX. But I got through both without smoking. I feel for the pot smokers who are being mislead or maybe they don't care.

My Dad has smoked 70 years. Can't breathe but sits and watches birds out of his porch window while they burn then takes another puff whenever he wants. The family has grown tobacco since they settled along Potobaco Creek with the Potobaco Indians. I was taught as a child (50s & 60s) that tobacco use causes lung-cancer. Pop was kicked off Manual's basketball team in 1950 for smoking. I did not smoke until I was 21. I became addicted by accident. I had this stunning beautiful girl friend at UK. She liked to smoke Tareytons. I loved that she chose to live in a halter top, but she had no pockets so I carried her cigarettes in my shirt pocket. :pimp: Sometimes I would light them for her. Yeah, I was whupped. Subject for a different post. Anyway, one day she ran off with one of my friends. Took my dog and left me with a bad habit. It was twenty years later I quit to show my teenage kids that to change things, make a decision.

Now about pot. It's about freedom, not being smart. Pot (drugs in general), alcohol, tobacco, pot, whatever are obviously, at least to me, a scourge of our free society. I for one, would rather not live in an alternative. Seems that everyone who wants them has them. That doesn't deny the horrific effects of substance abuse but where does that stop. Does that include food? Meat? SodaPop? Who judges? The lunatics who make the most noise? It's the personal responsibility of liberty and includes a requirement of discipline. Governmental responsibility is about fact and justice.
Kind of like kids, they belong to their parents, always have, not the government. Protecting our children is never to be neglected with communities where zoning, restrictions, and prohibitions are potential solutions. Want to protect kids from drugs is easy. Tell them the truth. Confiscate the wealth of those who profit from the marketing of deception.

People would be shocked to learn how many people hospitals kill. They cover it up when they screw up.

Oh, thank you vets for your service. Get out there and get your free grub.

Thanks to all who had a good wish for my wife. She shared a warm, funny remembrance at the service. She and the woman went back to University of Maryland days in the late 1980s, so, Bert is right -- she'll have lots of painful days ahead when she wants to confide in that special friend.

And Bert, I don't know how long ago it was, but I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I'm sure that's a pain that never goes away.

didn't know you were a smoker Bert. God looking photo of you! [laughing] I quite after losing my leg in 2006 and have chest x-rays ever year. This year I had a cat scan and all is good. Still have copd but I handle it OK for now.
I smoked for 5 years but due to my competitiveness I quit. I was always the best 2 mile runner in every unit I was in and when people started to get closer I stopped smoking knowing that was a factor. One of my better decisions

Way to go Warrior. Way to take care of your fellow men. They had one chance to catch you and you took it away from them. Hope you're happy.
