Cristian Conyer crystal balled

I have to agree with JR 100% on the article in question. Conyer is a good, not great prospect IMO. I do not think he is the best prospect in the state. But, the optics of this recruitment is what looms large for Kentucky. That's why this is a big one and we'll find out in about 24 hours.
Rock, who do you think is the best prospect in the state. We are close to knowing for sure where Conyer is going, at this late point care to offer a prediction ?

For me, my top would be, in some order: Antonio Robinson, Saadiq Clements, Oryend Fisher and Tommy Zeismer. I'd also have Woo Spencer and Jeremiah Collins in there somewhere had they not left the state for their final season. But if you still count them as in-state guys, they are definitely high on the list.

As far as a Conyer prediction, I have no idea. Tennessee media is confident. Kentucky media is confident. Somebody and their sources are about to get one wrong.

Yeah, I think Rowland got carried away with hyperbole, probably after hits. In fairness to him perception is the better part of valor. But...who knows where the guy ends up? I suspect Wiltfong is pandering to the garbage throwing TN fan who is a subscriber to his service. We'll find out soon and while I'll be disappointed if Conyer opts for TN it won't define this class.
I find Rowland highly reliable and a great analyst, but I think you might be right on this occasion.

It would be nice to sign Conyer. But he is not the best prospect in the secondary on Kentucky's recruiting list. Several other players are more ready and have more upside. If he turns down his home state school and picks UT, he can live with the consequences of that decision. But if Marrow closes the deal, Conyer can have a role as Stoops takes his program to the next level and Kentucky challenges Georgia in the east. We will find out tomorrow.

I’ve never met bluejohndon, but we’ve conversed and know folks in common.

He’s not a person to make frequent recruiting predictions of act as a troll.

I’ll go with his prediction.
Thx bro. Dating back to Jason hatcher, I knew Neal and dj were on the road to his hs about 10 minutes after they left. Used to get alot of good info. Don't have as many contacts now, but when I get info, it's solid

The analyst on weekend Atlanta radio predicted Tennessee. But those guys are Vol lovers. I almost always listen to their show. The last time I heard them project a prospect to Kentucky was D'Eryk Jackson from Dublin.

Whatever it takes, if they really want him. Period.
He has a better NIL deal on the table from Kentucky, if it’s 100% about money, that is where he will end up. Tennessee is not giving much to a 3 star CB. Tennesssee likes him a lot but we are not going to get our big targets like Nico, Francis, Ethan Davis, Chadavion Bradley etc if we are give alot of NIL money to a 3 star CB.

Part of this is true. Anyone would rather have those guys and they are gonna get more. I don't see why anyone would throw large amounts at Conyer According to everything we are told, Mitch isn't letting them give recruits NIL, so I doubt UK is offering more.

Everyone is offering NIL. Kentucky did the best they could with NIL on his Official and it might have been enough. We will know in 3 or so hours.

It is common knowledge that our coaches are upset with the AD tying their hands with NIL, but we have given him a bigger offer? Okay.

So you're saying UT really DOESN’T want him. Or, at the very least, he is not a priority for the Vols.

Good to know. I wonder if any of the Vol coaches were honest enough to tell him that?

Sucks but not the end of the world. I don’t follow the NIL drama, hope we are not losing out on guys because of lackluster NIL….

Nil wins again. Not sure how many signs fans need to tell them we're way behind in nil with zero intent on catching up. It's all on Mitch. He needs to accept modern reality or move along.

It's a good thing Kentucky didn't really want him.
We wanted him or Vince would not have put so much effort into recruiting this kid.

Stoops wanted him. Heupel NEEDED him.
Heupel needed a head to head recruiting win over Vince and UK.

He had been ofer up to this point in head to head recruiting with UK. Also needed to save face over losing the Wade twins and Brown to UK from last year.

Hope the kid enjoys his time in Knoxville and I also hope he never wins a game as a Vol, especially against UK.
