No!I'd expect in meeting with the kids he tells them what his plans are, what style of offense he runs, etc. In my opinion, a lot of guards may not like the idea of the offense running through a big out on top. Just a thought.
Your opinions are always negative. Hard to respect those.Anyone who's followed my posts KNOWS that I am enamored with Pope and despise the former coach. Pope isn't infallible, and the earth isn't flat.
I suggest you get in line and act as if you are capable of respecting different opinions and possibilities. Your sheep-think can be left at the door.
Oweh and Amari along with Butler was the reason this team was any goodI see what you mean now. That makes sense.
Here is the thing. Pope's system is a team effort. However, we all know that there were a lot of times this year that our system failed because players wanted to 1v1. I won't say their name but it's Oweh and Amari. Sometimes it helped, but more often it hurt us, especially against the good teams.
Agents of the players now make a significant impact on where a kid goes.Potentially that can always be a concern.
I honestly think its about money.
Its the era of who can get me the most money and a pitch that will tickle my ears to go.
However, I do think its a money issue. Its either Mitch gatekeeping and waiting till after the 7th or Pope being stingy. I really hope its Mitch, not Pope.
IF it is a money issue, imagine if you were a recruit right now.
"I'd love for you to come to Kentucky, but we can't pay you in full right now until after the 7th"
Another school: "Wanna come here? We can pay you in full right now!"
I think that is what we are seeing.
If it’s just about how much money I don’t want em. No more mercenaries.
Respect the brand.
Actually... The 7th greatly limits the amount a player can earn... Anything over $600 has to go before the NCAA clearing house.... And it has to be within 'Clear market value' for it to be approved... So gone will be the days of a collective just throwing 1 million at a player for no real NIL purpose. What remains to be seen... Is if the NCAA will have the teeth to enforce it, and what fair market value is.. Ie. What's the going rate for a Dealership commercial. Or an endorsement for sunglasses. And what's the punishment going to be... If someone breaks those rules. So I can see Mitch saying no NIL deals till after the 7th, to make sure everything is above board. Everything is slated to change when this ruling goes into effect.NIL doesn't come from the school it's a collective.
The 7th is not going to impact how much NIL money you have. The courts have already said you can't limit a players NIL value.
The 7th is going to determine profit sharing and back pay for former players.
Dumb question, Pope lets them shot, just like Auburn and Bama, why not wait until this process is done before making troll like post.I'd expect in meeting with the kids he tells them what his plans are, what style of offense he runs, etc. In my opinion, a lot of guards may not like the idea of the offense running through a big out on top. Just a thought.
He sounds like a troll to me and I agree with youBS. You’ve been dogging Pope since day 1.
Look at the multiple posters above calling you out.
Wouldn't it be easier to find another team that has a coach you like.
you have to have a winning record to get into the nitIn today's landscape, that kind of thinking will possibly land you in the NIT.
I think it's because we already have 9 players with several that saw significant minutes last year.I'd expect in meeting with the kids he tells them what his plans are, what style of offense he runs, etc. In my opinion, a lot of guards may not like the idea of the offense running through a big out on top. Just a thought.
They will not be able to limit the earnings. What will also be intresting... To see if there is a limit to these nil deals... If they say 50k is the limit for a commercial.... If we see someone giving 4 commercials at the same time... Still getting the player 200k..i can see this as the next work around.. Going to end up with a NIL rulebook 3 inches thick.
