... Believe it or not, these guys were pretty much equally rated coming into the year - by Rivals at least. Yes, Shaqquan had to sit a couple of games because of some NCAA issue, but he would have/should have been practicing with the team and thus should have been able to fairly smoothly transition into a contributor.

Um - no. As of today, Booker is being talked about as a late lottery/first round pick - whereas Aaron is still struggling to get PT on a team that has absolutely no consistent outside game and he is a complete non-entity on the draft boards.

If any two players more aptly embody the Kentucky effect - I can't think of them -

Oh wait, I forgot about the Davis, Kidd-Gilchrest, Teague class vs. the Blackshear, Banana-hands class.

I'd take a freshman Booker at UK vs. a 5th year Aaron at UL. I have no idea how I'd compare a freshman Booker at UK to a freshman Aaron at UK. I saw Aaron play in May 2013 and thought he looked good (thought also that he was too good of a talent to go to UL), so who knows?

Cal gets more out of his freshmen than anyone. There is no comparison. Hell- look at Justin Jackson. He was Top 10 and Booker has outplayed him, too.

Saw Jackson play at the same tournament where I saw Aaron. He also looked good there, but looks pretty lost at UNC, or at least nowhere near what most thought he would be. Oh well. Kentucky's not for everyone.

The first time I saw Aaron play was the few minutes he played against us. I was shocked at how scrawny he was. Made AD look like a body builder. They better hope he can shoot, cause he won't be contributing anything else for at least a couple years.
