College Football thread 11-30

Yeah didn’t think about that

I don't disagree in theory. Indiana is a fraud who has beat no one. Penn state really hasn't either.

They are just better than the alternatives n committees eyes.

I'd argue alabama and either ole miss or sc are more deserving than either. Committee can't leave out a 1 loss big 10 team though. It's politics.

You want more dog crap acc and big 12 teams in? Or some undeserving cupcake? We already have 1 with boise st. Big 10 and sec are by far the best conferences with best teams.
Yeah but we’ve already spent all year deciding who the best teams from those conferences are. Trying to argue to shut out someone so a three loss team gets in is crazy to me.

Bama has no business being in a playoff.

It's a good year for the 12 team CFP to begin. I'd hate to be on the committee to choose the 4 best teams this year. Oregon and pick 3 others? Even Oregon is not a dominate team -- 3 point wins over Boise & Wisconsin, and 1 point win over OSU.

We are probably gonna see a top of something crazy like
1. Oregon
2. Texas
3. Southern Methodist
4. Boise State

Neither does Indiana or smu.
If SMU wins their conference then they absolutely do. What’s the point of shutting them out so like a 4th or 5th place SEC team gets in? Anything can happen. We’ve watched TCU beat Michigan, we’ve seen Utah beat Bama, we’ve seen Boise beat Oklahoma. These guys at the very least deserve a spot in a 12 team playoff. If they’re bad then what’s it matter? They’ll get blown out and there’s 11 other teams going for it.

I hope Georgia gets to play A&M next week, but watching this weirdo fan base makes it hard to root for them.

That entire fan base’s identity is built around flexing their insecurity about the University of Texas.

Watching AM vs Texas. If Texas AM had finished their job and stolen the beloved Stoops from our grips, they could have been settling in for a hot matchup with their 5-6 squad tonight playing for bowl eligibility. Instead, they actually have to worry about this game. What might have been!

If they win the acc they deserve a spot but not a bye. If they win next week acc will probably just get 1 team so I'm all for that outcome.

The byes need to go to the 4 best teams.

We will know who is getting the last bid this week anyways. If Miami is ahead of the tip ranked 3 loss sec team they are in. If not, a 3 loss sec team is n IMO.

The committee will do everything possible to get Bama in even if they were 6 - 6 on the season. You are 100% correct that Bama does not deserve consideration for the playoff. The only way I could support Bama getting in would be by kicking TN out.
