Like college football and similar to NFL Draft and Combines - I think college basketball could use more offseason hype that would surround a real deadline-type NSD in the Spring.
As it stands now - yes I understand that UK recruiting benefits from the current set-up - even the top basketball recruits announce rather anonymously on random weekdays on Twitter or ESPNU throughout the year. It really gets lost in the shuffle of other sporting news. College football on the contrary, you know when to start following and watching for major commitments (1-2 weeks out of that day in February).
College basketball players now can - if good enough - just wait indefinitely to commit, and even then not sign a real binding agreement with the school.
It just comes across as more apathy toward the sport to me. Thoughts?
