CLASSLESS

4th & 8, up 49-0, ul threw deep to Joey Gatewood (!!!!!) who ran it in for a late trashy td to go up 56-0 on 1-AA Murray State.

Anybody who says that is the same thing as Ray Davis running off tackle late against a D1 team is dumber than frick.
DEEP.....LOL. The ball was on the 34 yard line. The 5th string QB connected with Gatewood over the middle for the first down, then Gatewood shed the first tackler before juking a second on his way to the end zone. Definitely not a deep throw. The defense was given a chance to stop out at 4th and 8 versus kicking a FG.

Late in the game? It was at 9:54 in the 4th quarter.

Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed the game.

I really don't understand this mindset. We scored late last week to cover the spread. This game is not for weak people. Murray got paid to get their ass kicked. Take your ass whipping and go home. These are not 6th graders. They are getting paid. I say score every point you can score. I know UK and UL have very little chance of making the playoff, but margin of victory is a factor. Beat the hell out of everyone you play I say.
WHAT!!!!! Haven’t you heard? According to a lot of their fans, they are making to playoffs!!

Yeah, I wouldn't attempt a field goal from a college kicker from that range either.

Had to see who you were responding to I put that ignorant dude on ignore.

5th string QB and Gatewood, play by play damn 7's is playoff bound.

Honestly I couldn't care less about UL. I just don't get the faux outrage from some of our fans over another TD in a meaningless game.

UL is gonna get blown out by ND and UK and probably lose a few more.

Four on scholarship. Plummer(Sr. transfer starter), Doorman(Sr. Satt), Conley(Sr. Satt), and Clarkson(Fr). 2 Jr. and 1 So. transfer. 2 Fr. walk on.

The plan is for Clarkson to become the starter next year. The others are jockeying for backup positions.
you better hope he has a backup plan

You created a 2 page thread to let everybody here know what we already knew. You played right into their hands. So that makes you a Tard troll or one of biggest dumbasses on this board. Nobody cares about that commuter school.

That last TD in the game was with 9:44 left in The game by a walk-on QB.

Yep. Let’s get our own house in order.
We won’t. I’m nearly 44 and it hasn’t been in order during my lifetime and sadly, I don’t expect it to. I kind of miss the times when I hoped for 5-6 wins because we aren’t much better than that now but the expectations feel far higher.

We didn’t score late to “cover a spread”. Coaches aren’t supposed to be influenced by an independent betting line. They’re to manage their roster and execute the game plan. Even CMS was apologetic for that last TD. It wasn’t his plan.
If you don't think coaches know the spread, you are the idiot. He apologized, then winked at the Alumni that bet on the game. Hell, Steve Spurrier said it when he scored late against us once. When asked about the last field goal at the buzzer up 24, he said "yeah, that was for the Alumni."

1. I didn’t say he didn’t KNOW the spread, I’m saying a coach shouldn’t be influenced by one. Who cares what Vegas says. It’s a betting line moved around by people unrelated to the program.

2.Spurrier would sell his mother to get Top 25 style points .

Games against teams, Murray St., Ball St., or EKU are no win games for P5 schools. Any sign of struggle brings criticism to them for not performing up to par, and beating them like they should bring the classless talk. Those small schools know what they signed up for, to get on TV, to get a check and for a butt kicking. No point in only giving them 2 out of the 3.

Up 49-0 over hapless Murray uavel goes for it on 4th down
Even “Honest Bob Petrino “ would not do that 👺

Why UK called trick play vs. Murray State and other lessons learned in win

Eddie Gran has some tricks up his sleeve

Late in the third quarter of a blowout game against an FCS team is not the moment you would expect to see a trick play, but UK offensive coordinator Eddie Gran put future opponents on notice with a 43-yard touchdown for wide receiver Zy’Aire Hughes on a reverse out of the “wildcat” package.

The play started with running back Benny Snell taking the direct snap then pitching ahead to Wilson, who was running in motion behind the line of scrimmage from where he lined up as a receiver on the play. As Wilson headed toward the far sideline, he handed off to Hughes, who was streaking the other direction.

With the help of a powerful block from Snell, Hughes turned the corner and sprinted through the Murray State defense for the touchdown.

“I knew it was going to be a touchdown,” Wilson said. “I was telling [Hughes] before the game I’m going to be celebrating down there with you.”

Hughes said Gran and the other UK offensive coaches developed the play after the win over Florida last week.

Seems ridiculous but I need a little more context
IIRC they were in fg range late in game and instead of kicking fg he just ran a play. They were milking clock. I dont see the big deal they had cleared the bench and were clearly trying to rn the clock out and you cant punt a ball 30 yards from end zone lol.

Spurrier will remain the worst. He had no issues taking his hostility out on kids who had nothing to do w him being fired at GA Tech by Curry. Nothing to admire about that despicable coach.

Oh, I don't know. I admired the way he nearly ate that visor when we finally beat him in CWS, and the way his Washington teams sucked. Other than that, though, you're right
