You younger folk might not know or care of this topic. But believe it or not, but back in the day, before Comedy Central and HBO stand-up specials, we used to purchase albums of comedy material from our favorites.

Here's a few that I had and remember fondly...

I have early David Steinberg, Johnathan Winters, Steve Martin and Homer and Jethro albums.

Used to have Vaughn Meader’s First Family album as well as Alan Sherman’s.(Both list. 🙁)

Adam Sandler one in HS. Me and my buddies used to love that one. Also a prank phone call one - can’t remember the name. Crank yankers maybe?

Sandler had some good ones. What the Hell Happened To Me, and Everyone's Gonna Laugh at You.
The Jerky Boys were the prank callers. They got semi-big and had a movie.

Mom and Dad had a Red Foxx album when I was a kid. Had no idea it was going to be dirty because all I knew about him was Sanford and Son, which I loved. I put that album on and those expletives were flying and Mom comes in and says this isn't for kids, lol.

I had a number of Cheech and Chong cassette tapes growing up.

Rodney Carrington had a couple very funny CD's.
The Bob And Tom collection
Tim Wilson, very underrated comedian.

To this day, still at least once every couple of months watch my Original Kings of Comedy DVD. DL Hughley, Cedrick The Entertainer, Bernie Mac, and Steve Harvey. So many one liners throughout it. My favorite comedy of all time. Probably my favorite of the all DVD is Steve Harvey talking about Rae Carruth. The show was filmed in Charlotte, NC, Carruth played for the Panthers. Also, the drug dealer "Boogie". "I got your coat Boogie, how bad you want it back ?" "You see the suits, the WB broadcast and think you can whoop my ass don't ya Boogie ?" "Sister Odell", funny skit about an old lady at church who he heard cuss for the first time. "who do this sorry MFer think he is?" "He gonna keep passing that offering plate, F*** around and come short."

Kings of Comedy was spectacular. Bernie Mac was still my favorite set from that special. That guy was a legend.
