I love crazy bump a thons like the title match. That was fun as hell.
Yep, tag match felt out of place but Trips LOVES DIY and when you sign MCMG, you gotta throw them a bone too and get them in front of 70,000. Creative's main goal this year should be to greatly improve the entire tag division. It's such a mess right now.
BTW, Graves is probably throwing Papa Roach cds at his screen tonight seeing all these announcers and talking heads. I just imagine he really likes Papa Roach and has all their albums.

I've never been so bored thinking about a WM main event before
Welp, you don't do that unless Jey is winning at WM so he's beating Gunther night one. He's got the fans and he's someone not of the old guard. This makes the EC a must for either Cena or Punk. Guessing Cena there. Punk is still entrenched in the whole Rollins/Reigns/Heyman thing. Jey/Gunther, Cody/Cena, either Punk/Rollins or Punk/Reigns.
Drew will get Rollins or reigns if punk doesn’t.
WM will still be a stacked card.
They didn’t exactly burn down the house the other night. I can’t see anyone being enthused about that as a main event at the biggest show of the year.
Read the three biggest entrance pops in the women’s Rumble were Alexa Bliss, Bella, and Trish Stratus. Pretty damning statement of the state of the women’s division when those three did better than anyone who has been on TV for the last 13 months.
Look at the bright side, almost impossible for it to be worse than Jey’s WrestleMania match from last year.
True. With Punk, they need to get off the WM main event thing. That's going to be annoying if in year three that's a storyline. End of the day, Punk never needs a title again. Him with Drew and Rollins was great. Him against Reigns will be epic. With Jey, he's not great in-ring but I told a friend last week (and maybe here too) he's fked since he's like 1-17 in title matches. If they were going to pull the trigger on 'Main Event', it had to be soon or he looks like a chump.
Bliss returned after two years and was a fan fav, Bella returned after several years and women love her, and Trish is a legend. WWE's women's division is STACKED for years to come. That's one thing you can't really criticize them for.
And yet no one on TV in the last 13 months could get a bigger pop than two divas and Alexa Bliss who WWE hasn’t been booked as a contender in 6 years.
There’s no doubting there’s tons of talent there though.
I mean, that's the Rumble. There's always 2 or 3 spots for returnees and legends. If AJ Lee had returned for one night, the roof would have blown off the stadium. No one expects Roxanne to get a pop like that when fans grew up watching Trish or Nikki and missed the hell out of Bliss.
Blame def rebel. I was there. None of the entrance music is identifiable. Just absolutely ruined Balor and Nakamura
Jey uso crowd went crazy when he came out it’s okay the fans loved he won Gunther is boring so those two can offset.
You got fatu/punk/cena/rollins/reigns/drew/cody who are main eventers on any PLE and will have great matches.

Alexa bliss will always get a pop - her main roster debut wasn’t great but she worked her tail off to get to the top and stayed there while also being super interesting. Her jacket said fiend 4 ever so ya someone popular gone after 13 months will get a big reaction.
Charlotte got a big reaction and Becky would have too.

Correct. Just a combo of things and I don't think most people mind him. They're drawing his entrance and YEET out so it's getting tiresome for some. YEET is probably one of those things that has its moment then society moves on to something else. He's not too impressive in the ring either but in WWE that's not a problem. He's superkicks, a bad spear, and a simple splash. Pretty crazy to see him go from that terrible Mania match last year to likely winning one of the titles this year though.
People are probably complaining b/c the casual fan was expecting Cena or punk or Roman to win.
But if you watch jey come out of for the rumble entrance and his win the crowd was definitely behind him.

Yeah Jey is definitely not a work rate guy that’s for sure. If he beats Gunther it will be interesting to see how long they keep the title on him.
You don’t have to be some great work rate guy in WWE, but the bar for what’s generally considered acceptable has been raised quite a bit over the last year or two. And Jey struggles to clear that bar in the few singles matches I’ve seen.
They’ll have to carefully select his opponents for PLEs to ensure that he is in the ring with someone that can carry him or else you’ll get that debacle that was Uso vs. Uso from last year.
After reading some of the Cagematch reviews I understand better now why people didn’t like Jey winning. He just lost to Gunther a week ago in what they all seem to agree wasn’t a particularly good match, so they don’t want to see it again. I suppose that’s fair.
Really odd booking to put that match on SNME if they are going to run it back for WM as I can’t see them doing Jey vs. Cody for WM.

Ya it’s definitely going to be jey/gunther even tonight Jey said he’s hinting at going for Gunther which is fine b/c there’s so many other matches and storylines - as great as Gunther’s ic reign was his world title reign has been somewhat forgettable.
Idk when dragunov is back but that’s the feud Gunther needs.
I think they called him ishowspeed he’s a social media streamer - poor tozawa deserved better than that.

Collision last night was better than Dynamite for the third week in a row. Not as good as last week’s, but that was one of the best Collision episodes, and that’s an impossible standard to meet every week.
And once again the top viewed YouTube video from the episode was Death Riders related, right at double the second most viewed clip.
I actually even liked the main event, which was FTR vs. Death Riders in a Mid-South Street Fight. Babyface FTR didn’t come to the ring with help, but when the other Death Riders started getting involved, Cope and Jay White came out to help. Some intelligent booking instead of resorting to Temu Bloodline BS, I was pleasantly surprised.

If they have Jey take the belt while having Drew keep losing on Raw, well that’s definitely an odd decision.
If you think about it, Jey went from tag team to singles fighting for the IC title to fans worldwide getting behind him to having opportunities for a world title to winning the Rumble and ensuring a main event spot at Mania. For old school fans like myself who like watching someone go from A to B to C and not necessarily A to C (MITB, gauntlet matches, random undeserving title matches), last night was sort of refreshing. It's why I used to love career mode in WWE games. You'd start on Heat or something, then SD, then Raw and PPVs, then you'd get title matches. Gunther vs Jey doesn't scream "main event of WM" but it completely makes sense and totally works...it's just a night one thing while a Cody vs Cena match would entirely overshadow it.
