That was Kevin Dunn, who I believe left once Vince was gone.

The picture of Cornette and Russo disturbs me.

I'm interested to see where the Toni Storm thing goes, kind of like Timeless but with amnesia or something.

Thought SNME was good, nice to see Jesse "The Body" as a true heel announcer. Glad to see Chelsea Green win. Seems like you would have wanted to show the Cody-Owens stuff on TV, but that's just me.

If you can, go out of your way to watch the Mark Briscoe-Kyle Fletcher match from Collision.

Anyway Raw for tonight

WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker vs. Ludwig Kaiser.
WWE World Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day vs. The War Raiders.
CM Punk to respond to Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins to appear.
The New Day to appear.

They gotta end this rhea/liv feud - I know they seem to be the only 2 top tier women on raw currently but geez it’s the same script every week - Rhea punks out and intimidates liv then liv does chicken heel stuff etc just like their matches. Get Guilua and Stephanie on RAW something to quit the rinse and repeat.

Is 2025 the year they give Steiner the big belt - he’s a proven star on the main roster and the crowd loves him whether he goes face/heel/tweener - he’s got all the tools to be a big star for wwe.

Only three matches on a 2 hour show.

And why would the New Day be looking for a locker room to dress in when the show was nearly over and they didn't even have a match scheduled?
It's because they had to have 3-4 brawls backstage or in the ring where refs and rando's from the back come out and try to separate them for 10 minutes. I don't get why that happens multiple times every show.

Do they shoot those backstage things live or do they film them earlier in the day? If they do it earlier in the day they can do multiple takes if they want to.

The amount of "injuries" due to backstage attacks are ridiculous. They happen all the time. In used to be Damage Control doing it and now it is Pure Fusion Collective (dumbass name btw). It happened again last night with Kairi Sane I believe.

Wwe isn’t all about matches it’s about building characters/fueds and storylines.

KO off match attacks is to build him up as a heel.

Jade was an injury angle for her to take time off.

Kairi was to buildup the pfc/damage ctrl feud.

I think the backstage attacks are a more time effective then doing the same “attacks” in the ring.

For me the frustrating thing is the lack of balance and how much time is spent just talking or running clips instead of wrestling.

We had a Smackdown a few weeks ago where the first nearly 30 minutes of the show and the last 20 minutes was just talk.

If you’re looking for wall-to-wall in ring wrestling, watch AEW. The storylines don’t make a lot of sense and are sometimes awful and the booking is geared towards people who love indie wrestling, but they routinely give you an hour plus in ring wrestling on a two hour show.

In WWE the matches are just a small vehicle to drive story. They’re more about talking you into watching/buying a ticket and saving any wrestling of substance for PLEs.

I wouldn't go to Raw or SD in its current form. People have emailed Brian Last in the past and said a wrestler will walk around for 10 minutes as the home viewer sees commercials, backstage segments, and promos for merch before the match even starts. It's why you'll have entrances at 9:10 but the match doesn't begin until 9:19. On Netflix, it should be more seamless.

Those Peacock/NBC numbers seem solid for a Saturday night. No shade towards AEW but once Dynamite is simulcast, I see the cable numbers dropping to 200K and the Max number between 300K-400K. If the AEW audience is younger, most currently watching will go to Max but I don't see 700K+ suddenly watching again just because the show will be available on a streamer and also cable.
