Saw somewhere MJF and swerve are taking time off - I thought MJF just came back from time off from surgery.
Gonna be interesting without 2 of their better stars being out for a bit to see who fills the shoes.

Hey friends, sick a lot of the weekend and catching up on things.
Thought I read the supposed "backstage incident" was refuted pretty quickly.
Again there should be no unprotected chair shots to the head ever.
I thought the needle thing was going to be the end of the match, much like Kurt Angle shooting Big Show with a tranquilizer gun years ago.
Probably a little over the top on the violence and gore but it was on PPV and not regular TV, so there's that.
Anyway Raw for tonight- First hour to be commercial free
Braun Strowman vs. Pete Dunne vs. Jey Usos vs. Ilja Dragonuv - Winner becomes top contender to WWE Intercontinental Championship.
WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart to appear.
WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair Jade Cargill vs. & Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre.
The Wyatt Sicks vs. American Made in an Street Fight.
Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio.
Zelina Vega & Lyria Valkyria & mystery partner vs. Shayna Baszler & Sonya Deville & Zoey Stark.

Looks a bit underwhelming based on that but I’m sure Bret hart will be the best part of the show.

I saw that match. Anything with the potato with arms in it sucks. That guy is the shits. I don’t get the appeal.
Same. There was a thread on reddit recently about him with someone asking what the appeal was. Dude got lambasted because apparently Ishii is a living legend in Japan and the hardcore faithful bow to him. A couple agreed with the OP and said it's understandable to feel that way if your only exposure to him is AEW's version where he rarely sells, seems slow, and does nothing but chops and slaps. Again, the faithful weren't having it and acted like the OP was an idiot.
I don't get that type of tunnel vision. I've seen everything Rock has ever done and he's given me endless hours of entertainment but if his Final Boss schtick sucked I'd say so and want him off tv.
RAW going to 2 hours starting 10/7 until it moves to Netflix.
I bet it will be a better show at 2 hours.

Thought the line about Goldberg was great, surprised Bret was ok with it since he supposedly really doesn't like Goldberg.
The final Smackdown on Fox did 1,770,000 viewers and a .45- way down from what it had been doing.
Also to no one's surprise Collision's numbers were not pretty.

Rampage's numbers were actually up at 233,000 and a .08
There was a post last night that WWE was now selling replica CM Punk bracelet's but didn't offer to compensate the girl who made it originally. It's not showing up Shop WWE now.

I don't know what the rankings system is based on, but I think I said this last year, and it is still true today. I don't see how anyone could be ranked #1 except Will Ospreay.
The rankings are based on whatever the writing staff feels like
I'll always remember Gunther hitting Hart with the Goldberg line. Bret even smiled at that one.
Love seeing Swerve that high up. Far as Ospreay goes, I assume this "ranking" is for everything (skill, presentation, titles you've won, storylines you've been in, etc.). Ospreay is a wrestling machine and passionate on the mic. That's about it right now. The MJF feud was solid (mainly bc of MJF's personality) but Ospreay isn't currently booked like a top guy and his presence has changed very little within AEW. Cody's last year was massive and Swerve became world champion (also beat Will) and has a monster feud with Page going that AEW fans can't stop talking about. I agree with the top 3.
One can say Logan Paul is a trash human but he's a natural wrestling heel. In 2024, I'm not sure fans care if a part-timer doesn't know what work/shoot means. Hogan (who has his own issues) and Nash can be offended but most guys don't really do carny talk now days. I respect it when they do but it's not really a thing anymore. Nash's schtick since having a podcast seems to be starting online feuds with current talent (Punk, Knight, Paul).

Little over 2500 tix distributed for tomorrow night at Rupp. Maybe walk ups get them closer to 2700 but in that old barn of a place? Gonna seem like a small crowd of ants on a dinner plate. Gauntlet match will be fun as hell though.
With that small of a crowd may as well hold it in one of the high schools gyms
I wish I were in Flexington tonight to root on the boys!
