Never thought I would see any team approach the Mets record in 1962 of 120 losses, especially given that the Mets were an expansion team which had no business playing in MLB. But the White Sox now have 112 losses with 17 left to play. Would have to go 10-7 the rest of the way to avoid setting the record. Personally, I think they can do it!! To be fair, the Mets only played 160 games that year, so arguably would have lost 122 if they had made up those games. But I think Chicago can still match that lowly achievement.
 
They matched it with 6 games left to go. They are about to set a new record in futility.
 
Amazingly, they have reeled off four straight wins to remain "stuck" at 120. Dammit guys, get it done for history!!!
