I think it needed a fresh look, I know they have to change the UK logo anyway
I love how we keep throwing money at Rupp when we could of been half way to a new arena had we just saved it ... especially if we invested it.

I kind of hope they go all out like Oregon. But have the Appalachians outlined and cover the whole floor, with the state outline at center court. Maybe paint a bunch of wildcats in the corners and different spots in the mountains. Really add flair to it, not just a make over. Oregons was just a forest like theme with a bunch of trees, we need mountains and wildcats.

As a guy that is die hard uk and grew up in tennessee, the checkerboard crap is seen as copy/paste around tn. Why did we ever start that ish.
I don't really like change. The jersey we wore during the year Morris, Crawford and Bradley class were my favorite. I wish we would have just kept those forever. Why change something that looks like it's perfect? Just no point doing it. Kentucky is one of the blue blood schools. We really don't have to act like Oregon and change our look every other year to help bring in recruits. I guess it's not all Kentucky changing so much. Nike pays a lot of money to UK and they have more say in changes than most of us would like to believe. We still live in a world that money talks. Show me the money!

Sometimes I wonder if our athletic department could ever do anything to make the majority of the fanbase happy. Most of you guys sound like a bunch of griping women on here lol.
I could care less one way or another. I just want them to win.

I guess so man but damn, I've got very little response to my UT peeps that laugh at it every time they see it. "How you likin our checkerboard pattern hahaha!" Wanna smack Nike or whoever brought it in. Maybe it will fade over time.
The problem is they keep changing things in bad ways. Maybe that's why most uk fans hate it? Because it kinda sucks.
I mean in football we just look like a bunch of clowns yearly now with these combinations but I guess it's fitting.

It's a friggin basketball court, not a mural, no reason to go too far over the top with "flair."

The checkerboard is something UT's traditionally known for, which is reason No. 1 why we should avoid it. If we're gonna resort to copying someone else's thing, it sure as hell shouldn't be our rival right down the road.

THIS!! People wouldn't complain if the changes being made were actually good ones! I don't know why that is so hard to understand for some. I'm sick of the "people just don't like change" argument. No, I'm fine with change, just not "ruining our brand" change.

Fact is change is fine and I actually collect all of UK's past and present jerseys and embrace our more revolutionary style compared to a Kansas or UNC. We aren't afraid to step out and it makes collecting much more fun.
The problem is, we are really sucking at it right now. The checkerboard is awful. The new digital logo is terrible. Most people hate the staple remover wildcat. The football team looks like one big chrome clown dildo. Just terrible looks.
And just when we think maybe bad is bad and can't get worse, they go badder.
We'll forgive me for bitching about it.
It's not a huge deal, just don't copy something like UT's f'n checkerboards, ya know, your rival. Get a decent look and stop clowning our uniforms out, especially in football.
