Chandler had a really good game!

Wouldn’t it be something if the light bulb is really starting to go on for him the final third of the season. 6’5, athletic, and really more skilled than he has shown due to thinking to much out there. If he can start to settle in and play aggressive with confidence and a clear mind…look out.
The teams in conference haven’t really seen him and he could really impact the last 5 games and into Sec tourney and ncaa tourney. Especially if Jax is going to
Miss a handful of games, or more, still as we come down the stretch.
I’ve personally been intrigued by his height and athleticism and have been hoping he would break through. The attention has been on our two Kentucky boys to continue to grow and produce, but he is one that can take a big step forward these last few weeks.
LFG Collin!

Works for me.🙃

He showed what he can be long term. Don’t crucify me for this but he can be Alex Caruso for the Thunder. I think that’s something Chandler can easily turn into

He can be kind of explosive at times. He got around the corner a couple of times last night which really surprised me. I really hope he hits his stride soon. We’re going to need him.
His best game by far. I thought he did a good job while running the point. He had some really nice drives and kicks, he contributed offensively, and was pretty solid on D.

I’m hoping Butler is back very soon, but if not I think Chandler can give some solid minutes.

It seemed like Pope told Chandler, Perry, and Noah to be more aggressive offensively. Chandler did not hesitate, Noah was off on his shooting but made a huge difference grabbing rebounds where we often are weak, and Perry still is challenged but took shots and hit a few finally.

Chandler played free last night, not thinking, just reacting to the flow of the game. This is the first time he came in feeling comfortable and it was very evident. I just hope he concentrates on his handle during the off season, that's the only thing he lacks, IMO to be a star. Also I think Perry is making strides on defense. Edwards is a tough assignment and killed us in Nashville but had about half the point last night. Experience is one of them most over looked qualities when evaluating players. It's evident that some of our experenced players aren't nearly as talented as the competition but our quality wins support EXPERIENCE matters. Thank GOD One and Done has gone by by, for the most part.

You can see the potential in him with the occasional bursts of athletic ability on both ends. When he wants to he has a pop on his step and movement a lot other guys dont have. You saw it some last nigh when he reacted to rebounds or loose balls and when he crossed over the guy on the break out. Just needs confidence in his shot to keep coming out of his shell.

Chandler will have to improve his ball handling to really become a starter level player on a high end team.

Chandler's ceiling is the highest on the team and it looks like it's starting to click for him. If he keeps improving game to game, I don't think the drop off with JR being out is a big one, overall. We need our players but Butler is the most critical to get back. These freshmen are stepping up but we simply don't have anyone that can fill Butler's shoes.

Collin Chandler also picked up a new nickname last night, "Bamboo" or "bamboo tree"

I'm surprised Pope forgot to talk about equal axes of bending. "Bamboo must be strong in all directions, for bamboo never know where wind will come from."

I told my wife that this feels like the start of watching a team begin to grow. The players that return from this team will be the fun part of that.
Oweh, Noah, Perry, Chandler and Garrison have grown before our eyes.
They will come back and continue to improve and that makes it fun for me to watch.
I can barely rember the names of many of our one and dones.
GBB!

I liken him to a jeff Sheppard/Jeff Brassow type. I don't think he's a portal candidate at all. I think he's pretty loyal to Pope, I like to think we get at least three years out of him if he blows up over the next couple of years.
Hope you're right about the portal; byu worries me, if he begins to get a little homesick?
