Chances Improving For Reeves Return?

Man, don't do this to yourself, that’s a 12+ loss team. Might win a game or two in the NCAAT.
Too many freshmen and Cal is still the coach.

There's really no way for us to know that without knowing how good the freshman are.

If these freshman are anywhere in the realm of Wall/Knight/Jones/Fox/Monk/Bam etc. etc., then this team has a chance to be elite especially with a Reeves return and getting Somto.

But we won't know until we see them.

I've taken the stand that I will only believe these rumors when they actually pan out after all we've seen this off season. So, while hoping this is true, I'll just wait and see and won't be fooled again (tip of the hat to the Who).

We desperately need him back. But he's left me feeling a bit sour towards him.
I agree, what was his plan? I would like to know what the issue was with him not just say he was returning when he knew he couldn’t catch a sniff. Was he holding out for more money?

Agreed.

He could be the glue that really makes this team go.

Wagner/Reeves/Dillingham/Edwards is potentially the best perimeter 4 man rotation in the country.

Then you'd have Reed Sheppard, Hart, Burks, and Thiero to fill in the gaps.
You sure . It’s still like 12u playing a 16 U team as another poster pointed out . there Have very few times in life I have wanted to be this wrong .

Freshman classes this loaded haven't been seen in recent memory (since the Zion team probably)- before that, these types of classes had no problem going up against older players.

I would have had no problem with a freshman Bam or freshman PJ Washington going against a senior Jacob Toppin or Keion Brooks.

With reeves and somto, they can atleast be really fun and atleast give a tiny threat that they will compete for something, it’s still a flawed team, but I would love to have reeves and somto than not having them. Cal being the coach is a huge bummer
Still a flawed team? Bro you haven’t even seen this team play a game lmao 🤣. You all are the most negative people ever

Lock up Reeves, and not only are we good to go.. but IMO, we should remain in the top10 preseason. The talk of dropping out of the top25 when you have the #1 class, is silly. Don't @ me.

That could be with the addition of Hart and Cyril.

Agreed.

Think this is definitely either/or (Reeves OR Hart, not both), but I think things are trending towards we'll at least have that answer by the end of the week.

So either way, we'll maybe have 10 by Friday, and we'll know whether it's going to be Reeves or Hart.

Think it's silly it's either or. Reeves is a clear starter and Hart is a clear cigar guy this season.

Obviously prefer reeves.

you were considering joining the so called "dark side" yesterday. quit acting like an idiot.
Its ok Jersey the Reds are going to win it all w/5th lowest payroll while the Mutts and Skankies fail to even make the playoffs with the 2 highest payrolls (Mets highest ever!) But Im the idiot?!

Bwah ha ha ha !!!!!

It’s called watching them play beforehand, and understanding the fit, that team is going to be flawed whether reeves or somto come to Kentucky or not.

Yeah, I would like to have both players too, but Cal is just off, something isn't right with him. I don't see any way a bunch of hs kids and Antonio Reeves is going to overcome his issues.

If this was prior to 2016, I would have faith, but Cal is a different guy and the game has changed. It’s more of a spread out game now and Cal refuses to play that way.
Not only that, but he has something going on between the ears, his days of winning anything of note are over.
He missed out on way too many good portal players and he's in panic mode right now. He’s going to piss this great recruiting class away by not supporting them with good veterans.
I will never trust in Cal again, been burned too many times.

It’ll be the most talented team Cal has had since the Fox and Bam team.
We said that about the Boston/Askew/Clarke team. We said that about the Kevin Knox class and we said 22/23 was going to be legit.
Cal refuses to adapt to a modern style of play and he's screwed up bigtme in the portal.
Now, I hope this new assistant coach works out, but this is the wrong year to be young.
20-12 at best is what I believe is going to happen. Cal just isn’t right mentally. He’s washed up.

Aren't you tired of believing this? We say this every year.
Not only that, but after a year of pumping these guys up, we're already starting see articles about how the '23 class, as a whole, is very weak. So the reality is already starting to set in and we aren't even close to the start of the season.
I figured it would be around late November before we all start talking about how overrated these kids were, well, it might be sooner than that.

I'm usually in line with you on things but can't say I totally agree on this one.

I'd say with Reeves and Cyril, we have a pretty well-rounded team with some versatility.

I do keep seeing tweets about how we'd still lack shooting but with Reeves/Sheppard as pure guys, but Wagner, Dillingham, Edwards, Bradshaw, Thiero (hopefully), Burks will all be more than capable.

I didn’t say anything about coaching. Talent wise they should be very good, but who knows how a cal does with this team.

Idk how we can say this every year when we haven't had a class like this in maybe 7 years?

Cal has failed with the "get old, stay old" model. We just didn't have the top-end talent that we needed to compete.

But now we have 3 projected top-10 picks coming in, that top-end NBA talent will be there.

I do not believe talent will be our issue....coaching on the other hand...

It's called reality and he's right, this team is going to have flaws.

Believe what you want, we don't care, you're going to disappear once the losses start piling up, so it really doesn't matter.

You act like we have no basis for our opinions. Have you been living in a cave for the last 4 years?

Newsflash, we don't care about you and your complaints about fans making negative comments, those comments are warranted given what has happened the last 4 years, so deal with it.

Well, the 2 go hand-in-hand man. Cal overcoaches these teams, they have to play like robots, because he dictates everything during games and it really doesn't matter how good that talent is, if Cal doesn't stop yelling and doesn't adapt, these players aren't going to accomplish anything.
He better get a legit post threat too, Ugo is not it and Cal without a post threat, is a disaster waiting to happen.

The reason those kids are projected top 10 picks, is because they have potential, well, potential doesn’t do you any good in college.

Clarke and Boston were projected top 10 too, that didn’t work out so well.
Edwards is the only legit player right now, he’s the only one that can overcome Cal's crap, the others are going to struggle. Oh, they'll eventually get it, but by then, it'll be too late.

I'm just surprised y'all are still falling for this. Lucy always pulls the football. Cal is Lucy.

It’s more to be with heavy freshman focus and expecting early season issues. And I’m just not sold at all on bradshaw

You have never seen any of these dudes play in person, so idk how you can say this all with such confidence that Edwards is the only good one, etc., you are going off YouTube videos.

"Potential" seemed to help all sorts of kids in college, like Wall, Cousins, MKG, Davis, Knight, Fox, Monk, Bam, PJ, TyTy, SGA, Knox, etc. etc.,

It's annoying when posters only want to point how the few kids labeled with "potential" who failed in college instead of the dozens of successes we have seen from freshman.

The point is that we have zero clue if these dudes are going to be elite or not, so seeing you be so definitive when none of us truly have a clue is frustrating.

I am hoping for the best, bracing for the worst, but this is the best class we have seen since 2014 probably, the next closest being the Fox/Monk/Bam class, so that gives me hope.
