Furthermore, why are you seeking out Briscoe threads? This one was from April. You fam?

Ha, since you must know, I am on one of my other computers I haven't had hooked to the internet in a while and was updating it and clicked on the link that was saved and up popped the older thread. I had a thought and typed it out in response to what I read (again). If that's okay?

Then I read your comment calling him a head case. I'd sure like to know why you'd call him that as other than he doesn't fit the mold of what you perceive to be a UK player OR should I just assume that is how you'd talk or "type" to anyone? You do what you want to do and I'll do the same. Be Good

Oh, and for the record, I don't remember what I did yesterday a lot of times.(I don't try to remember.) I don't have to; I didn't lie, cheat, or steal...

I can assure you I didn't pull it out of thin air. There was a certain radio show that spent about an hour going over this very topic, and I trust the information. Put it this way, the top 4 guys (in any order) Cal has had the most to deal with off the court are T. Jones, D. Lamb, Harrow, and Briscoe. Has absolutely NOTHING to do with how I perceive a UK player to be. I guess I'll just start being the biggest homer and talk about how great every player that comes through here is off the court.

Don't do that, it isn't becoming of you. (Be who you are...) If you must control and know why I do things I will tell you but you do have to ask. You're the one that seemed angry, angry that a UK fan would like a player you don't that you read about and agree with the person you trust. No biggie... I don't do things that way but that's me.

Cal is touting Briscoe now but I guess Cal is doing that to make himself and UK look good and trying to get another notch on his belt getting a player in the league. I don't see people doing things that way but some do. They will be found out in due time. Be Good and enough stated for this old thread...

Oh, I took the liberty of telling another poster for you, to stop posting in this old thread. I hope it was okay?

I gave an honest assessment of Briscoe. Doesn't mean I dislike the kid. I wish him well. That also doesn't mean he can't be criticized. I never told anyone to stop posting in this thread, I merely mentioned it was from April. Of course Cal is touting Briscoe, and he should. I made a couple comments that you can disagree with, but that doesn't mean you have to keep putting words in my mouth. It's almost as if I went on this big Briscoe hate tirade. Only it never happened.

Won't ever see him in a wildcat uniform ever again. I wish him all the luck in the world because he'll need it.

This. He has no business declaring for the draft. He won't make an NBA roster this year. He should have stayed to work on his shooting etc .

That being said , I loved him as a cat , he always had a bunch of heart in games ... and will wish him well in his future endeavors

If you can't laugh at that not sure you are not trying to be obtuse. Be Good

No chance.

No need to fret. Cameron Johnson as a JR > Isaiah Briscoe coming back as a JR. Plus,if you look at our current needs, it it Johnson ahead by a mile. IMO, we will get either Bamba or Bam back.

Assuming that, Cameron Johnson is the most needed "recruit" left in the class. He is really that good.

In my completely worthless opinion as always.

Dang did you miss that one...

Before January, Briscoe looked like a 1st rounder, and even had a triple double. Something happened, and he also put on about 15 lbs mid season. He's probably a head case which explains him going on a diatribe about no longer playing at Kentucky. Good luck to the kid, but nobody is going to miss him.

Or maybe he was a player working out for NBA teams who just got annoyed by every question he was asked being about Kentucky? I wouldn't take it as a slight against his school. I would imagine that a lot of players would of had the attitude like "Talk to me about what I'm here for, not the past."
Though I fully agree with the first sentence of your post. Looked like a 1st round player for the first couple months of the season than sort of regressed. Was still a versatile player, not bad by any means.

Good for him. Hope he makes it, I'm still hesitant in my thoughts of him having a lengthy NBA career. But I wish him nothing but the best

That being said , kinda bold of his father to claim if he went to "Kansas , Michigan St or Seton hall, he would have averaged 20pts per game"
Idk if I agree with that.

People kinda hated on briscoe while he was here , but I liked him.

Yeah you can state that but also please state all the glowing reports he's getting and all the good things him and his dad are stating about UK.

I didn't read the thread but I still wanted to be the first to say that he hired an agent and won't be back. [winking]

"Him and his dad about UK?"
You mean things him and his dad have said shout UK?

From what I've read they've both been very gracious and nothing but nice things to say about Cal and UK. He seems like a great kid and I genuinely hope he makes millions.
I'm just not certain he will (but who am I? lol I'm just a message board poster.)

My original point was more of a disagreement / confused as to why the father thinks briscoe would have averaged 20pts per game at Kansas , MSU etc - but not at UK, and if so.., why didn't he at UK? It seems his jumper (based on reports from scouts , GM's etc ) has gotten better ;which is awesome news - but it was fairly broken during his time here.

Yeah maybe at ku he'd have played the 1 and I think he would have been near a 20 average. Practice do make better...

To again comment on your post. Several have stated Briscoe hated it here and his Dad was angry at how Cal used Briscoe...many times threads eluded to Briscoes bad attitude and talking back to Cal. I just posted the different slant...it is up to me to give equal time to a UK player...

Not many freshman or sophomore players at UK get to average 20+ points per game, heck even when Monk did it, it was unusual. He would have had to go where the shots were many and today on the elite teams, that is hard to accomplish because of the talent levels.

I don't think Briscoe ever even considered coming back to play at Kentucky for another year. Some kids don't mind playing another year in college, but if we're being honest, Briscoe was never the type. The dude never liked the school part of college basketball. The dude thought of himself as a One&Done type of player from day 1 at Kentucky. When that didn't happen, the kid decided to give it another try with his shooting to improve his draft stock. When Briscoe didn't see himself rising up the draft boards, the dude was done no matter what. Briscoe is the type of player that plays college basketball for four years and then trys the NBA. Too bad in Briscoes mind, that wasn't the type of talent he saw himself as. After playing four years in college, the kid probably improves his shooting enough to go first round and a long lasting career in the league. He may have never improved his shooting, but if I'm him, I would at least enjoy getting to play college basketball and earning my degree. It is not millions of dollars like the NBA, but it's still playing in a competitive league and getting attention.

It may be wise to set higher goals and then work to attain them. Dream high and once you determine what the best you can do will be.....go two or three steps higher and work toward it. Don't limit yourself.
