No one else has started one so I'll do it and see that three threads have miraculously shown up.

Georgia got the leadoff on with a single and then Bosma settled in and got 3 outs.

Jump singles, Estep walks. Ritter lines out and Plastiak in a long at bat hits a deep fly out which at least moves Jump to third. Melear for Georgia in his first start of the year, facing Liebert and gets him to swing at low pitches again. When you end up on your knees, it probably wasn't a strike. Estep steals 2nd without a throw and Liebert earns a walk. Bases loaded with two outs. Rubalcaba hits a grans slam to put Kentucky up 4-0. It was a mistake pitch right over the heart of the plate.

Still not sure what we will be able to do with SEC pitching. Melear was putting them up over the middle of the plate and we were hitting it.

Apparently UGA is missing 2 of their weekend starters now.

Yes they are, this is why it’s imperative we get the series win today. Get into that bullpen. Need to take advantage of every break we can.

So far we are off to a good start.

Failed pickoff moves Liebert up. Fogel pops up to short left to end the inning. Seems like he pops up a ton.

Bosma gets two strikes ahead of the first two hitters in the 2nd. Walks the first one, gets a fly out from the second, followed by a single and then a tailor made DP to get out of the top of the 2nd.

Thrasher, strikes out, Jump hits a ground ball that eats up the short stop who can't make a throw. Estep forces Jump at 2nd but Georgia throws the ball into their own dugout, Estep at 2nd. Ritter works from a 1-2 count to a walk, still two outs. Plastiak singles to center to drive in Estep. Looks like it could have been caught. Liebert to see if Crisp is toast. He's not. Liebert strikes out to end the inning.

I wonder if Harris is OK. Felker starting at second. Didn't Harris get hit on the knee?

Bosma gets Floyd to ground out, hits Anderson to get on. McAllister hits a perfect unassisted double play ball to Ritter to end the inning. Defense making the routine plays well today.

Rubalcaba strikes out looking. Felker doubles to deep center. Fogel grounds out weakly to short but does move Felder to third. Thrasher falls behind 0-2 then weakly grounds to the pitcher for the 3rd out.

I wonder if Harris is OK. Felker starting at second. Didn't Harris get hit on the knee?

No that was Estep that got hit on the Knee yesterday.

Maybe just a day off……I wish we would do that with Rubalcaba during the mid week. Not take him completely out of the lineup but maybe let him DH, just to rest those knees from catching so much.

Bosma gets Collins to strike out swinging. gets ahead of Tate 0-2, goes to 3-2 and hits one to the short left that Liebert runs in and makes a diving catch. Acton, first pitch swinging, lines a single. Harbor grounds out to Felker who makes the routine throw for the 3rd out.

With Jump leading off, it would an excellent opportunity to get some more runs.

News coming out is Stupp is done for the year

Plus Estep with a 2 run bomb

New pitcher, Caldwell gives up a poke from Jump that lands nicely between right and center. Estep hits a line drive HR that hits the yellow top of the wall for two more. Ritter grounds out. Plastiak gets 4 straight balls to walk. Liebert then strikes out. Rubalcaba in a long at bat hits a ball right off of the end of the bat and gets it to land in front of the right fielder. Georgia is not going for our bloop singles. That one could have been caught also. Felker strikes out to leave two.

New Georgia pitcher Pearson... Fogel lines one back up the middle. Pitch was right over the middle. Thrasher puts down a good bunt to move Fogel. It really wasn't that close even if Thrasher is fast. Jump hits it straight to the pitcher. Fogel caught between 2nd and 3rd. Estep doubles to right. Jump only makes it to third. Ritter grounds to third who tags out Estep to end the 5th.

^ Bad base running by Estep there. Probably cost the Cats another run. Would have been tough to throw Ritter out. Geez. Be smarter.

Anderson gets it past Plastiak and Felker gets to it but can't make a throw. McAllister strikes out on a high fastball. Collins grounds into another tailor made double play ball which we execute. Wasn't a perfect throw but we've been turning the plays we should in the field.

They are absolutely dominating Georgia today. 9-0 in the sixth inning. Bases loaded.

New Georgia pitcher Rokose. Plastiak stretches a single to left center into a double. Liebert tries to bunt twice and then takes a high curve for strike three. Rubalcaba gets a ball past 3rd off his glove that the SS manages to gather in and make a long throw too late. Felker singles back up the middle to score Plastiak. Fogel first pitch swinging lines it over the SS to score Rubalcaba. 9-0 UK! Wild pitch advances both runners. Thrasher walks to load the bases. Jump lines it to the 1st baseman who snags it to force Jump. Scores Felker. Estep comes up with two out and walks to load the bases again. Ritter comes up 0-3 on the day but they pull Rokose first. Willis comes in to face Ritter who hits a gapper to right center scoring all three base runners. He ends up at 3rd. Plastiak gets up again who walks. Liebert comes up with runners at 1st and 3rd and two outs and pops weakly to SS for the 3rd out. 13-0 Kentucky...

Hudepohl comes on in the 7th. Tate singles to left which Liebert nicely keeps in front of him. Acton strikes out on a very nice low fastball on the outside corner. Harber hits a mistake pitch over the left center fence for two runs. Rogers flies out to deep left center. Marshall pinch hits and grounds to Felker at SS or did we do a big shift? Must have been a big shift. Felker took that on the third base side of second.

Willis still pitching for Georgia to Rubalcaba who hits a high chopper to McAlllister who bobbles the ball for an error. Felker grounds the ball which McAllister gloves to his right but can't even make a throw. Fogel lines one off the wall in left center to score two more. Thrasher grounds to third base and is thrown out. He's having a tough time at the plate in this series 0-8 so far. Church bats for Jump walks, Pitre runs for Church. Estep flares one spinning off to left field line for a double. Scores another run. Wild pitch to Ritter scores Pitre. Ritter flies out and the video feed goes to advertisement even though it is only two outs. Plastiak up strikes out while we are off in advertisement. 18-2.

Wow! Seems like they just dropped our broadcast for Alabama and MSU. Strickland pitching for UK. Floyd singles. Pinch hitter Allen drops in a double to center. Strickland has been struggling lately. Second and third, McAllister pops up that lands in front of Thrasher scoring Floyd. Still no outs. Wagner singles scoring Allen. Sheesh... Looked like a hit and run pulled Felker out of position to field that. Tate strikes out on a good off speed pitch out of the zone. Finally an out. Acton flies out deep scoring McAllister. Harber strikes out. 18-5 at the middle of the 8th.

New Georgia pitcher Marsh. We already hit him the other night. Liebert 0-4 strikes out swinging. McCarthy pinch hits and grounds out to third. Felker singles again. Fogel gets a called strike three. Still 18-5.

Zach Lee in for Strickland. Rogers lines out to Thrasher. Lee blows the 3rd strike past Marshall. Floyd grounds to Plastiak who under hand tosses to Lee covering for the 3rd out. Cats win 18-5.

This Georgia team reminded me a lot of what I think we look like. As I stated earlier they have a true Friday Night weekend starter where we have just a good weekend starter. Beyond that there pitching staff is a hot mess (and yes I know they were missing the other two weekend starters due to injuries). Infield looked solid but defensively looked real week in the outfield, especially at the corners.

Maybe they just didn’t want to play in the cold weather. But they sure didn’t look like a top 16 team

I was there today, great day at the ballpark:

-Perfect weather. It was cold, but sunny and really pleasant.
-Very lively crowd today, fans who were there were into it.
-I LOVED the game today, b/c I never had to get nervous. It was also great to see some of our bats warm up from some of the guys who had been struggling - namely Fogel, Ritter, and Plastiak.
-I trust Rubalcaba at the plate more than any other player on our team not named estep. The guy can just really hang in there and does great when hitting with two strikes.
-Georgia's pitching was a MESS on Saturday and Sunday. Glad we could take advantage.
-Bosma was excellent today. Had a lot of help with double plays (I think there were four of them, but minimum of three), but really pitched well today. Minimal defensive miscues also help.

After seeing two of the three games in person this weekend, I do have some hope. Losing STUPP for the year really hurts, but this seems to be happening a lot around the league this year.

It seems like we should be able to be competive against every left on the schedule except tperhaps for UT and Vandy.

I think Ole Miss is a winanble series. They have pitchitng issues, and were just swept at home by UT. If we win the series next weekend, then we will have some serious momentum.

I sorta thought this is where UK would be record wise after the first two weekends in the SEC before play started. Didnt expect them to get swept last weekend but hey, thats baseball.

Ole Miss definitely looks different after their showing against Tennessee. But gosh, UT is making teams just look silly at this point. But losing Stupp is going to be a challenge going forward.

I still stand that UK has an uphill battle to go to make the NCAA but there is hope.
