Cats vs Georgia (Sunday)

What a difference a day makes.

UK hitting now up to .262 in conference play after the massive game on Sunday. Fogel actually hitting .280 in league play. Plastiak really struggling at .174, and Harris at just .200.

Pitching will get interesting with the loss of Stupp. Harney may move into the weekend rotation. What I find weird about that is that Harney was not really mentioned as being a possible 3rd starter to begin the year. By all accounts it was Bosma and Lee vying for the 3rd spot. Now, Williams, Bosma and Harney may be the three. Not sure what is going on with Cotto. I thought I heard that he warmed up on Saturday, but we didn't see him during the weekend. This makes the bullpen pretty thin on really reliable arms.

Hard to say... Georgia's pitching outside of their Friday starter was pretty marginal. I don't think we learned too much. Our pitching is going to require some guys to step up quickly or we will be in worse shape than Georgia. At least they have Cannon.

They too had some injured starters. So, bullpen depth became an issue. Still, we put up a ton of runs on them, so have to feel good about that. This team seems to sense weakness in pitching and when they start hitting it seems contagious.

Re GA...UK scored 18 on Sunday, Miss St scored 19 on them the previous Sunday.

Injuries starting to mount on UK's pitching staff. Ample opportunity for others to step up but an already iffy staff becomes shakier.
